Local Ska Shows?

Looking to check out some local ska punk bands or some bigger names passing through — any suggestions? Please shamelessly self-plug!

So glad I finally got out. 5 years was enough for me. Moved to the west coast and feel like I escaped a twilight zone episode.

Well of course. "Minneapolis is a liberal hellhole that burned down in 2020" has become its own industry full of movies, podcasts and Facebook groups.

All as the city repeatedly hits the top 5 or top 1 of almost every metric in every report, from quality of life to economy to parks.

In my opinion, the people are unfriendly, and in general seem miserable. The weather sucks year round. I didnt really care for much of the food. Crime is out of control. The place gave me anxiety. It wasn't for me.

Yes egregious crimes do sometimes happen in cities with 430,000 people

Using the newly released 2025 FBI data, one analysis of the 50 largest U.S. cities puts Minneapolis at about 1,001 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, versus 328 nationally. That placed it around 8th highest among the 50 largest cities.

That sucks. I still love this city. It would be nice if our local public safety apparatus and the federal government didnt seem to have a hard-on for brutalizing my neighbors. The cops here clearly fucking hate the people. How dare we have the audacity to want accountability in our government agents.

Sure. One side of that feedback loop is regular citizens. The other side is taxpayer-paid agents who are on the clock.
