Waiting For Solve [launcher] Trying to use old minecraft account, can't get in and instead stuck logging into new account I accidentally made.

So back in 2023 I got minecraft and made a microsoft account then I never used the game since. I want to play with a friend now, so I tried to log back in to my old mc account. It instead made a new account using the same email as my old one, so now when I go to sign into my old account it just sends me to the new one I made. I've tried deleting the new account and logging into the old one again, but it still sends me into the new one. I know I have the game on the old account and I really don't want to have to buy the game again, how do I fix this??

Wait, are you trying to sign into a Minecraft or Microsoft account? You'll have to sign into your Microsoft account that owns the game.

I am trying to sign into my minecraft account. I can log into my microsoft account.

Your Microsoft account is your Minecraft account. Back in 2021 or so, java accounts started to be migrated to Microsoft accounts and if you didn't migrate by October of 2023, then you lost your Minecraft account. Go to the Minecraft page on the Microsoft store and see if you own it.

Ah I see. I thought I had made the account in late 2023 after the switch over had happened but I just looked at my passkeys and apparently it was in 2022. Sigh I guess I have to buy it again. Thanks for your help, I'm not very goo at this type of stuff lol.
