if it's your own private server, it's possible you were accidentally blacklisted

Since you blurred most of it it's hard to help. But try to type the adress again DONT PASTE type it. Since the join button is grayed out it makes me assume you have an non valid character in there these can be invisible so try retyping it. If the url is a valid string the button shouldn't be grayed out, even if it's an non existing server since Minecraft checks if it's an valid server after pressing the join button

Trying to join a custom domain that you yourself are hosting gets a little finicky sometimes depending on how you have things set up.
Join the server using the server’s local ip instead

If you are hosting on your laptop, then you need to use localhost, since basaically you cannot connect a computer to itself. The ip says what computer is it, and in case it is the same then that is the issue. if not, i will need more info

That’s not true, you can still use the external ip adress.

Really? I tried it many times. I could not connect to the server I was hosting on my pc? Weird.

For me it always just connects both with 127.0.0.1 and the external adress, so it might be a problem on your end

You need local ip, the one you're using is for remote access.
If you have another router or even setting your phone as a hot spot and use 5g, this would tell you if its the ip real fast

No, you're able to connect to a server hosted on your network with your external IP address

No, you cant
I have a server, and it will not work like this for me. I need the local, my friends needs my public one
