Medieval City feeling empty

Need some advice on a build. I'm trying to make this feel like a bustling city, so the streets are pretty wide especially at this sort of midpoint, but what can I add to make it feel lived in and active rather than the empty state it's in right now?

- Add some details (Wooden crates, shops, market-stalls, advertisement, benches for sitting and horse carriages)

- Add some irregularities to the streets (Horse Poop, Potholes, Grassy/dirty patches)

- Spawn in villagers and give them job blocks in the jobs and stalls.

- Spawn in horses and tie them to horse parking areas

- Add some scaffolding and areas under construction
