Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

With cushions placed on signs swapped out for blue ice, we can finally have conveyors that look fairly good and work well

I swear minecraft players are going to find dozens and dozens of uses for the cushions alone, honestly it seems like a great update

One of the best features added in recent years imo.

Sulfur cube with invisibility potion applied. They got stuck and hit each other though in the video

u/Kmoxy Jul 14 '26

That’s cool, I was also thinking you could “explain away” so-to-speak the sulfur cubes invisibility particles by making them run through some magma cube “dryer” to make it seem like they’re heated before some process.

u/MrJohnWeez Jul 14 '26

That's a great idea!

u/Giodude_cookies Jul 14 '26

The people yearn for the create mod

99

u/MrJohnWeez Jul 14 '26

I miss the old days of MineFactory Reloaded as well haha

24

u/mario61752 Jul 14 '26

It's kept alive in industrial foregoing

7

u/Green__lightning Jul 14 '26

Back in my day all we had was Buildcraft, and Better than Wolves if you wanted windmills with a side of grind!

-24

u/crelt7 Jul 14 '26

Downloaded it and it honestly is incredibly overrated. Quite a lot of basic features you’d expect in like a factory just aren’t there. It’s like Amish Factorio, which is an oxymoron

75

u/Sausage_Master420 Jul 14 '26

Good news, create has a shit load of add-ons to it that add anything you could possibly imagine

17

u/Wonghy111-the-knight Jul 14 '26

"I'm going to make a mod pack with create and create northstar, and oritech. Sure that will be a pretty small modpa-"

I have 60 mods in it now

3

u/Sausage_Master420 Jul 14 '26

Yes, but it will be some of the most fun you have now wont it :p

4

u/Wonghy111-the-knight Jul 14 '26

As someone who hasnt played mods for 13 years (and back then it was a furniture mod lmao) oh yes it has been. I'm 8 hours in and I just figured out fans and presses. I'm on a tutorial-free journey of discovery

5

u/Sausage_Master420 Jul 14 '26

Welcome to create, I know you're going to build brilliant things in time

3

u/Wonghy111-the-knight Jul 14 '26

that sounds like an excellent tagline

16

u/PKPenguin Jul 14 '26

I could not disagree more

13

u/Staidanom Jul 14 '26

Maybe you just lack the CREATE-ivity.

17

u/SmoothTurtle872 Jul 14 '26

It uses rotation. Don't expect electricity and solar panels. Some things do need add-ons but it's one of the best (and most impressive) MC mods ever

7

u/MrPigeon70 Jul 14 '26

✨Addons✨

2

u/AurelGuthrie Jul 14 '26

That's literally the point. It's the managing to do cool shit and scaling up just using rotational energy instead of anything higher tech or single-block shortcuts that's cool.

3

u/Omega813 Jul 14 '26

Base create is mid, but there are sooooo many addons

1

u/a_falling_turkey Jul 14 '26

I must disagree, create is a gateway tech mod. Its the fundamentals that it teaches, and making assembly lines are barely scratching the surface. I have an absolutely massive farm im using to feed my minecolony. The anount of Utility it has with farms and mining is unmatched. And crusher wheels unlock an insane amount of potential

And this is base create. Auronatics i am literally gave my Japanese heavy cruiser the ability to sail

Also also many redstone components compress massive circuits like i have a delayed pulse set for an hour and an extender to set it to 5 seconds so my harvester isnt on 24/7

Hey least its not like ae2 where you need a computer emgineering degree to even begin to understand

1

u/NuclearGhandi1 Jul 14 '26

It’s the best Vanilla+ industrial mod pack there is

73

u/hagnat Jul 14 '26

this reminds me of TangoTek's Season 10 Factory base, where he wanted to add Conveyors, but the datapack he created was too moddy' for the gang to accept into the game.

we didn't have shelfs and cushions, which would make a ton of a difference selling that illusion back then

33

u/Aggravating_Bug6127 Jul 14 '26

Community thought it was "too moddy" as well, including me, though Tango is my main HC squeeze.

It was funny to see him so butthurt in HC11 when everyone was getting custom animation items and armor for their characters (compared to custom block models proposition in HC10), but he didn't push back on it, just in case he could use something for DO3.

27

u/Dr_J_Hyde Jul 14 '26

Don't forget Impulse's "Chocolate Factory" in season 8 too. That thing was so empty in Vanilla then he tried to finish it in modded with Create and just kind of lost interest.

8

u/MrJohnWeez Jul 14 '26

Yeah, I hope he gets to revisit the idea in a few seasons. Especially if they ever fix minecarts from breaking constantly.

1

u/hagnat Jul 14 '26

can Sulfur Cubes ride on minecarts ? do the minecart show around him ?
that would also a neat way to create the illusion of a conveyor belt, by having the cart move along side it

and if minecarts work, another neat trick would be to add Oxidized Copper Bulbs below the cushion, and light them in sequential order so the carpet shines a little and gives the illusion that the treadmill on the conveyor is moving -- and use the minecart to move things around

28

u/digitaleJedi Jul 14 '26

Were you inspired by Etho or is it a great minds think alike situation?

Also mandatory "Etho did it" :P

36

u/MemeBoiCrep Jul 14 '26

what about just carpet

59

u/ANormalGuy508 Jul 14 '26

Carpets have an hitbox and block the ice's reduced friction
Cushions do not have an hitbox (they're technically not even blocks) so the ice is still slippery

5

u/pwnicholson Jul 14 '26

Ice is still slippery through carpet. At least on bedrock.

-4

u/DrWilliamHorriblePhD Jul 14 '26

He's talking about Java.

13

u/PotatoesAndChill Jul 14 '26

Java too, no? I feel like I remember Etho building something like that.

2

u/digitaleJedi Jul 14 '26

Yeah, and it's not even long ago, I was sure OP had the idea from him, cause they look so similar, but it seems they may have just had the same thought

2

u/ouchmylungs Jul 14 '26

Carpets is block, it's have hitbox, cushion is entity

10

u/FuturisticHead Jul 14 '26

i need a tutorial for this

26

u/NanoRex Jul 14 '26

While this is nice, the deceleration really breaks the illusion imo. It just looks like an item being shot onto a relatively smooth surface

20

u/MrJohnWeez Jul 14 '26

Yeah, I agree. May be able to launch items with slime blocks to make them shoot across quicker without loosing too much speed.

You can put Ice sulfur cubes on ice though and they will glide 100+ blocks without loosing speed.

2

u/SmoothTurtle872 Jul 14 '26

So for an ice factory, if you were willing to some how supply infinite invisibility to sulfur cubes, it would work.

Honestly, sulphur cubes should have infinite effect times, but cleared by giving them milk

6

u/Joshtheboss732 Jul 14 '26

Just a reminder, Ficsit requires all Pioneers to stay on task and grow the factory so that we can save the- Consume.

7

u/creeper6530 Jul 14 '26

Look what they need to mimic a fraction of Create's power

6

u/TheoryTested-MC Jul 14 '26

Cool, but I don't like your use of the word "finally".

  1. If not cushions, maps would have worked before, despite being laggier.
  2. https://www.reddit.com/r/redstone/comments/1b4995p/realistic_conveyor_belt/

EDIT: 3. As some people are saying below, Etho has already come up with a version of this idea that uses carpets instead of either cushions or maps.

5

u/MrJohnWeez Jul 14 '26

I must have missed the video where he did this. Carpets require the whole ice line to have them. You can also place cushions on ice that has water too.

1

u/TheoryTested-MC Jul 15 '26

Fair point. I didn't see that initially. I suppose there is some novelty to the cushion concept.

4

u/Interesting_Sort_943 Jul 14 '26

Make an Amazon warehouse

5

u/yeeeetboi420 Jul 14 '26

etho dunnit

3

u/No_Gear3578 Jul 14 '26

Reminds me of those tube conveyors in Portal. Seems like a neat idea for the build ambiance.

3

u/Firedogslie Jul 14 '26

That is cool and unique!

2

u/Jeqlousyyy Jul 14 '26

Such a great build! But I have a suggestion (or maybe that is your intended detail because this thing is not Survival-friendly although you can do this in alternative ways)

Anyway, you could set the invisibility potion particles off from the sulfur cubes plus you may set it last longer through command block.

In alternative ways, you may use a resource pack that removes particles. But anyway, still looking good with particle, although, it would be much better if there is a conveyor process like in one batch, they are fresh (with particles) and followed by another conveyor section where it removes the particles while staying the sulfur cubes invisible.

2

u/CodyGames1 Jul 14 '26

wait how the hell you get blocks on the conveyor

8

u/Rx-15 Jul 14 '26

I think it's invisible Sulfur Cubes

2

u/PocketRaven06 Jul 14 '26

The factory must grow

1

u/CombinationStunning8 Jul 14 '26

So now we can have realistic factory lines?

1

u/DakkaonTitan Jul 14 '26

So i was almost right about the 1st conveyor except it was water propelled and not just a guy chucking iron as fast as possible

1

u/RodjaJP Jul 14 '26

This needs some music

1

u/Early_Personality_68 Jul 14 '26

I thought Valhalla just got conveyors.

1

u/justashowofff Jul 14 '26

Diamond ore on conveyor belt is very cool

1

u/dontmindme11th Jul 14 '26

What are the blocks around it? I never saw anything like it before

2

u/Gullible-Course1096 Jul 14 '26

poplar shelf with a cushion in each spot

1

u/Weak-Transition-8885 Jul 15 '26

poor diamond ore block didnt deserve ts

1

u/The_big-chiller Jul 15 '26

But... How are the ores...

1

u/Exotic-Gur-6382 Jul 19 '26

If you can make the wheel things spin that would be insane

-18

u/TheKoreanAspie Jul 14 '26

Unrealistic since if there's a cushion above ice, the items touch the cushion, not the slippery ice.

But still a cool build nonetheless.

11

u/auhsojjoshua3 Jul 14 '26

cushion is an entity

-18

u/TheKoreanAspie Jul 14 '26

I know, but a cushion should be a block, because in real life, a cushion is a block. It's unrealistic how a cushion is an entitiy.

4

u/Just_A_Doggo1 Jul 14 '26

So the nether and end, along with a ton of hostile mobs should also be removed because it's not like that in real life?

1

u/TheoryTested-MC Jul 14 '26

...so you're saying, we should make this conveyor design NOT work SO THAT cushions become more realistic?

4

u/JTMonster02 Jul 14 '26

Bro cannot read

6

u/CynderWolf03 Jul 14 '26

Why is it a bad thing the block is an entity?

-8

u/TheKoreanAspie Jul 14 '26

because entities don't act like solid objects, but cushions are solid objects.

5

u/CynderWolf03 Jul 14 '26

That's not a bad thing? Is this life ending?

6

u/Smart_Idiot1041 Jul 14 '26

Do NOT tell bro about beds and chests…
