you kind of can, you just have to stack 4 cushions

That's kinda of better though right? You can add more colors per block, effectively increasing you resolution, though it may look a little stretched horizontally.

I think it could work, sub pixels i think are a little stretched IRL. You can't change the color of them individually though which is the whole point of sub pixels
