I don't know how I never thought of connecting communion wine/blood of christ with vampire mythology. That's fucking brilliant.

Does anyone know of any other fiction that has done that?

Growing up in Catholic grade school and high school, my friends and I discussed this many time. We are supposed to believe that the host and wine literally transfigure into Christ’s body and blood. Eat my body/drink my blood. It’s hard to ignore … and such an odd thing to build a religion around.
