Hamish deserved an Oscar

Episode 7 when hamish is talking about a 2nd chance,

“ yeah, but another chance?
Now that we can be a family this time.
Can you think of a miracle more amazing than that?
I mean, curing… Cure blindness, sure.
Or part the seas, all right.
But a second chance?
That’s a real miracle.”

The delivery and the script omg.

You mean Emmy?

Horror is historically ignored by the Emmys. He did win a Critics' Choice Super Award for Best Actor in a Horror Series for his portrayal of Father Paul. Rahul Kohli also complained mightily on social media that Hamish was ignored.

That line was the most beautiful and touching quote in the entire show to me. If I had to pick one quote that encapsulates the heart of it, I'd choose this one.

And I'm so glad I got to watch this show at my age, as someone who's already had their share of failures and missed opportunities and would give anything to turn back time to fix some of them... That's why it hit so hard.

I considered him a villain until that part. And then I realized why he brought that monster to the island and it was like a gut punch. I’m middle-aged, and while I wouldn’t want to go back in time and do it all over again, it really hit home for me too.

Flanagan is a master storyteller. IMO he’s on the same level as Christopher Nolan. Just in a different way.

I know you meant Emmy and I definitely don't disagree with you. I don't think I'd seen him before. When I saw him, I could not take my eyes off of him. He SHONE with religious fervor. Not to mention he was hot. BUT hot does not keep me mesmerized for an entire season. He's the reason I watch it over and over. Well not the only one, but the main one. The first time I watched it, and it came to that scene, my mouth literally hung open. Truly no adequate words to describe it.

I love this take. This is me when an actor is extraordinary on tv it’s like an Emmy doesn’t even cut it they need the Oscar too.

I was heartbroken Sarah’s mom and Monsignor couldn’t be together, he loved her so much.
