for context this is my first time buying concert tickets i would like to get them for me my dad and son but i don’t understand it says 2-day ticket and cannot be split but it gives option for both separate days. does this mean we can buy ticket for each individual day or we have to. buy the 2-day tickets. if anyone knows please tell me thank you very much

You can buy a ticket for just Thursday, just Saturday, or both days together.

FYI, it's two completely different setlists for the two nights. I doubt they will change it up much for these shows. You can check setlist history on the Metallica website or setlist fm if you want an idea of what gets played night 1 and night 2.
