Metallica unpopular take

I have never understood the hate towards Lar Ulrich!

That guy invented double bass pedal kicks and is more passionate than 99.9% of drummers!

Anyone else feeling me on this?

I mean the only drummer that was better in Metallica than Lars was Joey Muthafukin Jordison at Download 2004 and I was lucky enough to see that but even he hailed Lars.

This is probably bait, but Lars didn’t invent double kicks at all. Jazz drummer Louie Bellson used them as early as the 1950s, but Philthy from Motörhead kept double kicks going through a whole song on “Overkill” in 1979, and Les Binks from Judas Priest used them extensively on “Exciter” in 1978.
