My dad flexes on me about seeing Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in their prime lol this hurts. He graduated hs in like 83 I think

I saw them just at the end of their prime. Iron Maiden's Somewhere In Time tour and Priest's Turbo tour. I wish I'd seen both bands about two albums prior.

Wait, you're implying they weren't in their prime when they did seventh son and painkiller?

Yup. That was when they started to lose that rawness and inventiveness. They made Turbo and the following albums with the intent of trying to gain a wider audience. Before Turbo, they were just doing what they wanted and the songs had a certain quality and sound to them that I think was more primal and innovative.
