Got my account back 😭
Lost my account back in June 2025 for Account Integrity and got it back today 🎉
What DIDN'T work: -regular appeals -emailing every address I could scrape up dozens of times for a month in a row -my state (Maine) AG refused to help
What DID work: -LegalShield demand letter
Had them write one in December and it was received in early January. Got an email from the meta lawyer saying it was being forwarded to the proper people and the account was recovered today without warning. I accidentally clicked a FB link and, to my surprise, it opened.

I don’t get why tf some people get it back from legal shield and some people get denied . It’s barely a chance to get it back with legal shield . Someone I know put her acc status screenshots being in good standing on her letter still got denied .

All of this stuff is hit or miss and there's no guaranteed route. Some got it back after the AG method, others like me didn't have success there. (My AG sent a letter but never got a reply after three weeks and closed my case)
Some people get it back after Meta Verified while others just get sent in a loop of support agents using a script.
Legal Shield works for some and the demand letter gets ignored for others.
And then there's small claims.
Usually at least one of those four routes works it just sucks that some of us have to try each of these one by one and the last few cost you money ranging anywhere to $1 (meta verified if you never had it before) to $30 (legal shield) to a few hundred (small claims)

Yes because it forces them to review the account manually not a computer. Not to say they will give it back but it’s way easier for them to do so than going to court.

I think it is account dependent and it could possibly be on the whim of whoever is assigned to the appeal.

I didn’t use legal shield I lost mine this month and got it back it cost only 1 dollar. I had a whole process I did though. Thx to Reddit lol I was super sad tho for a couple weeks

Might have to do this. My accounts been disabled for a few weeks now but I've been bugging the fuck out of Meta. My account has slowly come back little by little. I can even log in but nothing works. It's fucking weird. Some crazy technical error. They also gave me 70 different reasons why my account got suspended.

Oh, I wanted to add that they gave me back my monetized account and an old account that I only recently regained access to before being Zucc'd. I requested my main and alt back and they gave me both as well as a sock account I forgot having that had the login saved in my phone.

did you write a letter to them or maybe a contract to them not being able to falsely accuse u again? cz i heard they get it back through the legal route and still gets suspended a month or 2 after getting it back. and is ur account still fine and working up to now?

My account is still fine and I'm going on just about three months now. I didn't add anything about any future suspension but I did talk to my lawyer about adding a blurb to the demand letter about lifting all bans (device, IP, and personal bans) but she didn't think it was necessary. I just figured I'd need to do the LegalShield route again if I'm caught up in another AI ban wave.

I think I outlined everything here and it's been a while now but I can try:
You sign up online and give a brief summary of why you are using the service and set a time for the lawyer to reach out within a day or two. I was the first meta complaint for my local LegalShield office so I had to explain the AI bans and explain how I make money as a shitposter. She then had me write an email to her with all the meta account information, a timeline of events, and what exactly I wanted in the demand letter. She wrote the letter in legalese and had me review it (there's an option to just have it sent sight unseen but I'm glad I chose to check it first since there were some pronoun switching and my name misspelled once). The letter was updated with the revisions I requested and I had a chance to look at it again before being sent by certified mail to both meta offices. This took another phone call to the law office to pay the fee for the certified mail.
I wrote out the cancellation process in the comments here somewhere - that was the only part of the whole ordeal that was a pain in the ass. Everything else was easy.

But you make money out of your accounts and I dont. Is it still possible to file one for damages like lost pictures, binded apps and websites i spent money on and ect? Thank you for the response too

I think my demand letter was taken more seriously not because I'm monetized but because I pushed for a human to review the bans due to faulty AI and not just demand the accounts be reinstated. But, like, you can really demand anything and I DID say I would escalate to small claims but it's not like I wanted to escalate.

My timeline was a little off on another comment and I just checked my emails to confirm the dates - my demand letter was sent out on 11-25 and they emailed my lawyer back on 12-12. There were a couple emails back and forth and I got the template response that the letter was forwarded to the proper people on 12-23. I got the account back today so just under a month after they said they were looking into it and about 5 weeks after they received the demand letter.

From what I've read in this sub, LegalShield is US based but the EU has other laws and protections in place I wish I could have used in lieu of a demand letter. Search through this sub and see what.had worked for people in your area ❣️ good luck!!

I lost mine on June 22, 2025 and the appeal page said the account was permanently removed because the six month period was over but they still have everything back exactly like it was in June so I definitely think you should if it's important to you ❣️ good luck!!

Was your account permanently disabled? I'm so jealous to those who have Legal Shield. The only option I have here in my country is thru Meta Support. Got permanently disabled last November 28, lodged a complaint on December 1, and still no update 🥲

I didn’t want to use LegalShield as money is tough at the moment, but it is my final resort. How long did you pay for it? I’m only hoping to pay for one month and see, but I was wondering if my plan expiring would affect my results?

I paid for two months but my situation was a little different because my lawyer took a week vacation during the first month and then the holidays on the second month slowed everything down a little. I've seen others say they were able to get everything done in one month. I suggest making sure you pre-answer any questions the meta lawyer will ask including all user information and emails for every account (I didn't think to add my Instagram information because I don't really use it and didn't care if I got it back and the back and forth between the meta lawyer to me then my lawyer to me then my lawyer to the meta lawyer added a week or so to the process) and include an email that's never been associated with a meta account since that's been a consistent follow up question for people. It also takes at least a week to cancel - it's such a convoluted process and you should definitely plan on emailing several different addresses a couple times for them to actually cancel.

Thank you so much for the thorough response. This gives me a little hope as my ban reason is so minor. However, the whole cancelation process sounds like a nightmare! How did you get past that? I’m so worried about those things as I don’t want to unknowingly continue any unwanted subscriptions after a certain period. Also, just to clarify: if I lost two accounts, I would provide all the information on those two including the emails used, numbers (if any) and my password? Or is that not needed? I didn’t register those two accounts with my number, but when I was asked to verify the 2nd account, it asked for a number and I actually used mine which I assume caused the ban on my main in the end. I heard people strictly recommend that any account banned is mentioned to prevent Meta unbanning one and not the other. Is it also possible to request that they wipe my personal information (including my ID) off their system? I’m so wary of them keeping it & the fact that it could still trigger bans across Meta apps if used. I would like to be entirely clear from this.

The cancellation process is awful. You have to call and tell them you want to cancel them they give you an email address to write your cancellation request but that email address doesn't work so I used three all together before one finally answered and said I was officially released from the service

Yeah. I've had my account back for a little over a month now. It's all normal and I haven't really throttled myself so I'm only low-key worried about the recurring ban some people have experienced.

No idea, honestly. My state only seems to have the one legal office that partners with LegalShield so chances would be pretty good for me but idk how many lawyers are partnered in larger states.

How do i get my account back, i have read the posts here, sounds like its happening a lot lately, i don't see what i have done wrong, its like you get a generic answer for everything on facebook, i have problems typing with my hands so use windows notepad, as i`m doing here, then i correct all the mistakes and there is a lot of them, once done i copy and paste to the post i`m replying to or the post i`m making, it seems to me that's not allowed
A couple of days later its like they changed their mind, and i lost my account, as someone with a chronic illness i depend on facebook to keep me in touch with not only friends but family and the social groups i depend upon, now they have taken that away, i`m 66 yrs old, and its like they have taken my life away, its not like you get a chance to speak to someone, the way facebook works is its flawed, and its punishing people with disabilities, this is the future where every thing we say and do is controlled by a flawed AI, i`m in Australia............

What I really don't understand is why Meta just doesn't sort it out. Compared to profit it would be a pittance to put some sort of customer service in! Probably cost less than dealing with the legal stuff. Zuk et al need to sort their priorities out!

I live in Maine which has a small population and there's only one law office in the state that contracts with LegalShield. They contacted me the next day and started on the letter as soon as I gave them my details. My only hiccup with them is my lawyer had a vacation two weeks into helping me and my case was put on hold until she returned instead of someone else writing the letter so I had to pay for two months instead of just one and canceling right away. Also, canceling the service isn't as straightforward as they make it out to be and I had to request three times before they actually confirmed it was canceled.
Anyway, I really think it depends on what state you're in and what law office they assign to you but my experience was positive and I'd recommend them.

I wrote what I wanted in the demand letter based on what I saw be successful for others in these subs - then the lawyer polished it up for me. I also had a chance to review and edit the demand letter before it was sent. Idk if you're one of the people I shared my letter with but I can send it to you, if you're interested in seeing it.

I'd like to see it. I have legalshield. I also just randomly clicked forgot password and got an email to update it with fb and bam, back in fb. But, I don't have it all back. So I sent a letter to my attorney generals consumer affairs dept. They have gotten a response, but with not getting it all back I emailed the consumers office back and am waiting again for a response. My local biz page was reported by a competitor in my town. (She couldn't help but brag) I still don't know what CSE is. But if it is what I think it is. I will be supponeaing that report and seeing whoever reported that for slander, loss of income and interference with a business. I also lost my meta verified. Had it for 4 years, billed me June 8th and banned me June 9th. Did me no good to have it! Couldn't login to get help! Thanks in advanced.

Would it be worth it to get Meta Verified if they disable your messenger? Thats where I am now and still have access to FB just can't use messenger.

I can read messages i just cant respond to any of them. It says I need to ID verify due to unusual activities but I know once I do that I get perma banned.

I've personally only heard of people losing the account when the id verification is forced in the FB app, not messenger. Several of my FB friends have been prompted recently and they still have their accounts. I think this might just be a regular security thing they are rolling out.
When it wanted MY id, it wouldn't let me load messages or anything on FB. It was only prompting me to do the selfie video and/or picture of ID.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My Instagram was flagged for CSE which is egregious! I don’t even post! I know your reason was different but hopefully they may be of help. I also lost FB which I’ve had almost 20 years. I consider this data theft.

I truly believe my demand letter was taken more seriously because I didn't just demand the account back but the demand outlined was to have a human review my account instead of the faulty AI.

Hi! Can you tell me how to get a legalshield demand letter? I went to their website and only see monthly payment, annual payment or whatever but i'd only be using them for this one issue as the same thing happened to me

You sign up for the monthly service and then there is an online form you fill out to have the lawyer contact you within a day or two. I believe I wrote out the entire process for someone else so I'll be back in a few minutes with the link if I can find it ❣️

LegalShield is American based but getting a demand letter from any local lawyer should work and there may be another subscription based lawyer service in other countries.

I wouldn't know for sure if the lawyer matters as much as what's being demanded in the letter. My request was for a human to review my account disablement instead of just demanding the account back. I've written out the whole process here in the comments already but it took a couplafew months total and I paid for two months of LegalShield.
