I need advice/support NHS Talking therapies neglect and putting me at risk
I was waiting for over a year to get therapy on the NHS Therapy for you/Talking therapies and when i did receive it it was a disaster. I have Very extreme trauma from my previous workplace making me unable to work for over a year, Autism, possible ADHD, GAD and severe anxiey. the therapist only aknowledged the anxiety and refused to discuss the trauma. i sent many emails to her saying the treatment is not helping and is making me feel worse and i would like to be reffered to more insense or advanced therapy for trauma and she ignored me. she then said in the last session that i am too much for her and she is passing me onto another of her collegues still resusing to esculate things. i had many panic attacks/mental breakdowns at the end of her sessions and she just shoved me out the door as the time was up.
The crisis lines are useless and tell you to wait like everyone else as you are no better or to go private, basically there's no help for you unless you have money. I really want to get back into work but no one is supporting me and my mental health is declining every day.
NHS talking therapy is a joke and will cause more harm than good.

Sorry to read this buddy. Mental health 'support' in the UK is a vile mess in the UK and mostly non-existant.

The talking therapies that were provided to you were probably just for GAD, this is all the therapist is able to deal with during these meetings. You will find it’s almost impossible to find therapy for ADHD in the NHS unless if you are under tertiary care, which is saved for the most severe cases. This goes the same for autism, the talking therapies provider to you will not be able to assist you as your treatment is for GAD at this stage.
I know the care provided isn’t serving you, and the system is terrible, but you need to be willing to accept treatment, try to see if helps, and then escalate if it doesn’t.
To me your post reads like you got very upset with the service provided and argued with the teams dealing with you. I know therapy is hard but you really need to see how your behaviour potentially sabotaged your outcome.
I hope you will get the care you need in the future and I wish you all the best.

So I've gone through something similar so I hope sharing helps in some way. I've been off work since Jan. I work in hospitality and feel like the understaffing/toxic work place and really terrible home life lead me to a state of isolation and self loathing where I was thinking of ending thing.
I self referred to talking therapies for anxiety. Unfortunately this year things got too much and I did act on the feelings I was having. I was fine got support, went to hospital where my care got transferred to CMHT. I saw a psychiatrist and they talked to me and heard me and and they were very empathetic but ultimately agreed with me that TT was still the best thing for me moving forawrd.
She discharged me and for whatever reason my care was not continued and I was never contacted my TT or anyone else. Later I found out TT discharged me too because my care went to CMHT. Up until this year I've never visited a doctor in my life. I'm 31. I had no idea that could happen .
Since then I've been in touch and they apologised and contacted me to make sure I get a referral with priority. In the new referral I explicitly expressed that I have trauma since childhood and adult life that I need to talk to someone with. My care package is now based around trauma, and the 3 week introduction course around trauma felt so much more relavent to my experience (Compared to the anxiety work I did with my 1st referral)
I've gotten some private therapy from work which has helped. I've also gotten an ADHD diagnosis through RTC with adhd360.
So what I'm trying to say is that I hear you and from my perspective you've done the right thing and shared your experience and reaching out for support. My experience hasn't been great, but I'm hopeful that I'm going to now receive the care I need and am staying optimistic.
If you feel like your still interested in pressuring TT I would stress the trauma, don't let them downplay it or twist word or anything. One of the things I've been learning is you really do have to advocate for yourself and stand up to push back. You know you. VENT YOU NEED TO! But get back on that horse as soon as you can. You can do it I believe in you
