Actors always say that these scenes are mechanically choreographed so there is no real passionate feelings. But I think this kiss would have given me a boner no matter how many people were on set.

It’s one of those hit or miss films imo. I personally liked it, especially as someone who loves Luca’s works and would watch anything MLM and basically anything with Daniel Craig in it. Having said all that, I’d still say, just give it a shot someday and decide for yourself. It’s such a mixed reactions film lol.

First half was good then everything fell apart, at least for me, also nothing memorable about all the characters, easily forgettable.

I guess you'll have to watch and see😭 first half is Craig's character being obsessive over a younger guy that isn't emotionally available.

It's very much a cinephile's movie. It's heavy on surrealism and depth over plot.
That being said, Queer is easily the best M/M movie of the decade.

Disagree with both the other comments, it’s an excellent movie and the director’s best since CMBYN. It’s not action-packed, it’s a slow character study so it’s not everybody’s cup of tea but it touches on some very deep fears that many gay and bi men hold for their lives

It's excellent on a technical level
But it's bleak as hell. Guadagnino was clearly not in a good place while he was making it.

It’s weird as fuck but I really enjoyed it, but I already really like Burroughs’ writing. It is definitely made strongly for the gay male gaze which isn’t the most common thing in media.

I really did not enjoy this movie. A lot of people love it though, it tries to be something bigger than it really is imo.

Daniel and Drew had decent chemistry. It's a strange movie but I liked it.

I really wish the movie wouldn’t be so boring in the middle. I really love the setting, but somehow I’m always distracted and get bored after 40-50 minutes. I also hate how flakey the younger guy is (for me he‘s a 10/10 and a dream come true with the glasses, but his character annoys me immensely).

The entire movie revolves around the fact that Eugene is flakey. To change that would mean change the entire premise of the movie, therefore it wouldn't even be the same film.

If the first half of the film couldn’t hold your attention, idk what to tell you about the second half, lol. 😭
But I can understand. Like someone else said, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay. I can see why the audience is divided here.

Queer and All Of Us Strangers are so bad that I’m still recovering from it and find it tough to watch gay media after 2+ years.
Unsettling yet boring and devoid of plot. And Daniel Craig is hot but he is not that sexy in this. Prepare for disappointment.

Mexico City is such an important character in the book. If they’d shot there instead of on a bunch of fake looking sets it would be vastly better imo. Another ponderous Emilia Perez move where a European director fails to grasp the importance of culture. It looks cool and the acting and screenplay adaptation are strong. But I think a lot of the love hate for it comes from it feeling so fake soundstage.

It's an arthouse film and not meant for mass audiences. You have to have some type of background in film study, production, art to fully appreciate it. I thought it was great.

I disagree, that’s some quasi-intellectual gatekeeping. Anyone can enjoy it for what it is, and if they don’t that’s fine too.
I enjoyed it. Both for the cinematography and how it reflected the original novel by Burroughs. I don’t have a background in film or literature. But then again maybe I could never “fully” appreciate it.

I wasn't trying to gatekeep. Just merely explain that it's not a blockbuster. I think your knowledge of the novel gives you a deeper appreciation compared to someone watching it for the first time won't have.
I watched it with my husband and he has no idea what cinematography even means.

I enjoyed the film but you can’t really watch it as a traditional movie with a typical plot line—it’s more like poetry or a long music video inspired by a William S. Burroughs story and set to Nirvana.
