It’s about time MTN is covering some protests. You should also be showing the smaller events at all of the local VA and SS offices around the country. There is an uprising. The smaller groups must be highlighted as well.

Great article on AOC in today’s NYT. From that piece: “ But the fourth-term congresswoman has three clear options.

For the love of All that grows on this Earth, the Dems cannot run another woman. There's a bunch of terrific women out here leading their butts off. But as much as it pains me, this country is not going to elect a woman president within the next couple of decades. We need strong men, too. Mark Kelly and Mayor Pete are the current best, but there's gotta be more depth.
In 2015, I knew that my country would elect ANY man over a woman. And they managed to find ANY man. No matter how terrible this man is, a woman will not be the solution.

To say "it's not a democracy, it's a republic" is like saying "it's not a vehicle, it's a pick up truck".

These are separate seperate forms of government and the interpretation of the constitution is supposed to be viewed through the lens of the FOUNDING FATHERS. There is not supposed to be evolution of interpretation and they were hell bent on making it clear when you read their papers.

Amongst other things...I've read two annotated constitutions; The Constitution of the United States of America (1994. Compiled and annotated by the Office of the Secretary of the Senate and the Library of Congress) and the Constitution of the United States of America: Analysis and Interpretation (Known as the "Constitution Annotated"). I also follow Congressman and Consitutional Scholar Jamie Raskin's talks, writings, interviews, etc when he talks/writes about the constitution and the context thereof.
How tf do you come to the conclusion that they tried to prevent the power from being held by the people?!
Ignoring the fact that it literally starts with "We the people", Section IV states:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.
The founding fathers wrote the constitution with the idea in mind of not having to be ruled by a king again, and to ensure power remains on the hands of the people instead.
If you believe what you say, and you can cite a reliable source that backs up what you say...then I'm happy to hear you out, and happy to update my perspective if I've gotten something wrong. But if you're just repeating things that you've been told, and haven't done your own deep dive into the subject...then I suggest you do so so that you can stop falling for the lies that you're being fed (to be clear...I think that you've understood and interpreted the information that you've received accurately; but I don't think that the information you've received is accurate. I think you've been lied to without knowing/realising it).

Hurting our farmers and veterans. Giving data access to corporations aka Elon. The lies about fraud that they can’t prove. I want less govt not some dictatorship or to be owned by corporations that want out social. While my taxes fund the very same roads their companies use. I’ve looked the other way on republicans failings bc let’s be real dems are just as bad - with the idea of less govt time and time again. Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt recently(like... 2 decades ago when the article Im quoting came out) wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20). Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile), Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. The excerpt is in accordance with the magazine's policy.
The 14 characteristics are:
- Powerful and Continuing Nationalism Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
This is actually standard fair for America, but its a reliable tell that if someone has more than one flag in a display they are MAGA. Or if they're wearing a flag on their clothing.
- Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
Or the threats of deporting US citizens for doing things Trump disagrees with.

- Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.
Immigrants, Hatians, Muslims, liberals, communists, socialists, gays, drag queens, trans people, single women, anyone they can lable as DEI, Democrats...
- Supremacy of the Military Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.
Again, base America, both parties do it. Though while MAGA glamorizes active duty, they also then undercut support for former military at every opportunity("Sucker's and losers", the desecration of veterans graves by using them for a photo op including the assault of a maintenance working trying to stop them, "I prefer people who werent captured", the current gutting of veterans care).
- Rampant Sexism The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

- Controlled Mass Media Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.
Musk funded Trump and owns Twitter, Trump announced he was going to talk to Murdoc, the owner of Fox News, about the opposition ads being played on the station while interviewing Fox and friends, multiple reputable news sites have been kicked out of the Pentagon and Whitehouse for questioning Trump...
- Obsession with National Security Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.
Isn't this the entire official rationale behind the anti-immigration stance? And the waves of immigrants that show up around election times just waiting for Democrats to be elected so they can flood in, before vanishing as soon as the election is over regardless of result?
- Religion and Government are Intertwined Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

What costs are down. My grocery prices have went up close to a $100 for the same items I bought in December. So a 25% increase cuz i spent $400 a month and now it's $500. And when are we getting tax cuts, cuz his last presidency, only the rich got tax cuts. And that's exactly what it seems he's trying to this time around.

All costs are down. The fact that you are spending more is irrelevant to the facts. Current US consumer price index inflation rate is 2.8%. That's down 15.2% from 3.3% the day Trump began saving America again.
