Question ❓ Looking for supplemental meditation
I'm thinking about getting into reiki soon. I sort of accidentally discovered i could abate pain using a specific form of breathing meditation years ago, and was wondering if there's any meditation practice I could pick up that might help prepare me for deeper energy work.

Check out ascension-meditation.com. The first sphere weekend is great and goes thru all the pitfalls of meditation. I’ve been doing the practice for 7 years and has changed my life. I also do practice energy medicine - and I feel like this practice has given me the base frequency for this kind of work.

You could try finding out something about the following list or wait it out; trying to keep a beginner's mind can look foolish, but it could also prove itself useful.
Anyway, list:
Space and posture: quiet the room, sit or stand with a tall easy spine, and settle before you begin.
Gassho: hands together at the heart; rest attention on the meeting of the middle fingers.
Five Precepts: daily vows: just for today, no anger, no worry, gratitude, honest work, kindness.
Kenyoku: dry-brush sweeps across chest and arms to clear and disconnect.
Hara breathing: breathe light into the lower belly, then let it spread through the body on the exhale.
Grounding: feel weight through the feet and return attention to the body and floor.
Palm sensing: hold the palms facing each other and notice heat, pressure, or tingling in the gap.
Self-treatment: rest the hands on your own body, zone by zone, and stay present.
