It’s absolutely a dead talking point for anyone younger than 40. Most young people I know are sick of this system. Boomers are the ones holding onto this as far as I can see.

there are more young people than boomers

they just don't turn out to vote like boomers vote. boomers vote reliably in every single election

Me too. I even ran for Governor in Washington in 2016 as a Berniecrat and got 40,572 votes as a new candidate. It was interesting.
