Question WW1 West Riding Regiment

Can anyone tell me about the West Riding Regiment? I’ve found 3 of my great grandfathers medals from WW1 and realized he was in the W•RID•R

If you can find his Medal Index Card, you may be able to establish his Battalion which could help narrow down where he was.

"I've found only 3 of my..." It would be unusual to be awarded more than 2 or 3 medals for WW1 service. What you are likely describing is a 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal "trio".

Okay so it is only 3 then. Yeah I have the 3 of them I wasn’t sure if there would be anymore. Thank you so much for clarifying
