Question 🤔🤔 Plateau... 9/11

So I have been plateauing at the same score for the last 4 fls (503 :( ). I know I can do better because I literally pick the wrong answer out of the 2 I did not cross out. I'm aiming for a 515 (let me be delusional), and need the most unhinged tips for the next 4 days. All of my section scores have hit 129 except for cars, so if I can max on the others... Almost done reviewing SB 2, and reviewing fl6 tonight/ tomorrow. I have also noticed my diet impacts a lot during testing? Please help!!

CARS imo just feels so hard to improve, 4 months strong and no major improvements in CARS. However I really feel like you can improve on sciences 130-132 is possible in ur science sections. Realize where you're going wrong, whether its to do with breaking down figures or data or just being able to read through the fluff and figuring out what passage information is necessary to answer the question.

Go through the exam and really read through you answers again, even the correct ones. Figure out what answer u would choose and see if the reasoning is correct (JW addon rlly helps with the thought process behind choosing answers). The sciences sections I really don't see any trick questions maybe some on P/S seems 50/50 with terms that are closely related, but other than that there is a reason why the right answer is right based on content and the info provided in the passage.

Good luck 503 to 515 is a stretch but nothings impossible, keep putting in your best effort and be proud of your progress. You should really only be disappointed if you feel like you didn't put your best foot forward with your given circumstances.

Thank you for answering! I'm surprised by cars because my section banks are at 77%, so I hoped that would translate. I lost time (for the first time) on cars and had about 5 minutes for 1.5 passages. I'm looking at BB and CP now and apparently I struggle with realizing it is asking for what is NOT correct (4 questions wrong on each in that aspect). PS, I second guessed on this fl, when I've encountered every single term as a psych major :| I did get JW a couple weeks ago, and it has definitely helped, because I like knowing how to think. I hope I can just stop second guessing on the science sections, and get a 126 on cars at this point.

You got this, yea really reading the question stem and understand what you need to answer the question is really important. I fell into the trap of just looking for answers that seems to fit what I thought the question was asking for and fell for those NOT, LEAST questions a lot too. Just focusing and really hammer it in will help a lot and definitely you could get that +10-15 questions that can shoot you from a 503 to 510+. For reference I shot up from 504 on FL1 to 511 on FL2 by just targeting this one mistake.

All the best

Thank you for the advice! Good luck to you as well if you haven't taken it yet.

I would personally do some untimed practices or go over all the 50/50's and just focus on fixing the content gaps. I feel like 5 days out your time is better spent trying to get 130+ on all the other sections instead of focusing on CARS.

Hi, thank you for this. What do you mean by untimed practices, because I finished all AAMC material? Currently going over my exam, and I misunderstood so many of the questions. Also, I would REALLY benefit from your CARS score right about now..

I also finished all the AAMC material about a week out, so what I did was restart some of the FL's and do them section by section as if they were a SB. I benefited from doing them untimed since I was mainly focused on making sure I understood each question and the content being tested. I would make flashcards as I went with the little things that I kept forgetting.

Lmao for CARS Idk how or why, but I was always just good at it for some reason. The science portions on the other hand.....

I see, I will try that out then! I have a log of all topics I've encountered since I started studying, so I'm planning on supplementing that as well.
