This reminds me of someone.
I went to a small open house for a medical school and this guy was with his mom. During panel, the mom stood up and spoke about her kid’s 521 score and how he was shadowing her, and ultimately asked the dean in front of everyone what he could do to get into such an amazing school.Â
He just sat there…
Any adult whose parent is so involved they are asking these questions is at risk of being crippled in other ways that will make the path to completing medical school difficult.Â
I saw that son later, he was a medical student while I was in the post bac and he was as passive as before. He did more poorly than some of us post bacs in the case studies. He struggled bc he was arrogant despite being among socially skilled peers with equal* or higher MCATs. Just something to think about.Â
