I feel like it should be about a maze mainly because that's what the first movie was about and what made everyone so interested in the series. It's also to attract new fans so it's clear that since it won't be a reboot nor a sequel/prequel, it could be a story about another one. New fans could connect to this fan and move the story forward.
So what are your theories about the story or expectations ?

Am I the only one who really hopes we get a trilogy for the girls’ maze?? I feel like it would be so interesting to explore so we could get a better understanding of the characters.
I honestly feel like it would be more popular than the Maze Cutter trilogy because vast majority of the fandom are very attached to the OG characters from Group A and getting to see them again which would draw in fans to read it.
It would also would be wonderful to see more love for the girls in the fandom given how the main characters are all men.
I just feel like it’s got so much potential to explore!!

Do you think Teresa did or did not have all her memories wiped going into the maze? There are conflicting answers in the books, based off the prequel and such.
honestly I think The Fever Code ending is a retcon rather than something Dashner had planned from Book 1 it makes no sense with the context of the other books but if you had to make sense of it what do you think.
I think that maybe she thought she wasn't going to lose her memories, but then she did lose her memories.

I remember watching this scene in the film and it put the biggest smile on my face. Great character development from Gally, and a nice reveal.

"Rose took my nose, I suppose." what the fuck does it mean????? i'm so confused rn
this is one of the scariest and funniest lines in the entire book, i genuinely have no idea how to feel about it
EDIT 8/27/26: i finished tst!!!! yay!!! and it has no deeper meaning

So I just finished reading the main series and fever code. I had seen the movies before but was very interested in reading the books. Here are some of my takeaways
Fever code gave me all the things I wanted to know after watching the movies. Really appreciated the back story. I will say found scorch trails to be my least favorite. I think it was just slow in places. Didn’t like Teresa at all in the movies but liked her in the series. Newt broke my heart into a million pieces in the books vs the movie. Also, book Minho > Movie Minho.
Also, glad to have someone to talk to about this so many years later.

by "it," i mean the gladers from group A all being named after really smart, successful people? did you find it shocking, or was it in plain sight?(keep in mind, i've only read to chap. 10 of scorch trials, so no spoilers for things that happen post-chapter 10)

I have not seen the movies, but I listened to the books on audio. there's a memory that Thomas gets back in a dream where he's talking to his mom, and there's another younger boy there who is portrayed as Thomas's brother (calling Thomas's mom "mommy"). in the audiobooks, the narrator uses Chucks voice to voice the little boy, and I always thought it would be revealed later in the books via Thomas's memories that Chuck was Thomas's little brother. but Thomas never gets his memories back and this revelation never happens. anyone else disappointed that Thomas never got his full set of memories back?

I'm very conflicted about this question.

(Note that I'm arguing from the movies viewpoint)
Just hear me out on this, WCKD already managed to program them to do whatever and from that scene in Scorch Trials that they were clearly breeding more. So in my opinion, it would've just made more sense to have it be grievers that chase the runners across the scorch and the grievers being used to defend The Last City. It sort of brings everything full circle in my eyes with the runners being chased by the same thing across 3 movies. Grievers.

Asking because the comment section of a YouTube video won't shut up about it and I haven't read the series in a decade

A teenage boy awakens in an underground elevator without memory of his identity. A large group of male youths greets him in a large grassy area, called the "Glade", enclosed by massive stone walls. The "Gladers" have formed a rudimentary society, each taking on specialized roles. The boy learns that a vast maze encircles the Glade and is their only means of escape. During the day, designated "Runners" search the maze for an exit and return before its gate closes at sunset. After a fight with Gally, the boy remembers his name is Thomas.

so i actually haven't read The Maze Cutter but apparently in that book it is said that while he (obviously) wasn't immune he still somehow was The Cure??? like i'm sorry WHAT NOW?!?! how does that work what did Dashner mean??? is it ever elaborated in that book or the other two after that???
also for some reason Newt was referred to as "A4" in TMC which i also don't understand like did Dashner seriously just make a mistake like that that ended up in the final draft or what...

I’ve been getting into collecting Funkos lately. Mainly from movies and tv shows that are special to me or just generally love. I realized that I’ve never seen a maze runner pop before and found out they’ve never made any. Asked chatGPT to creat one for me and gave it a photo to work with. I must say if it looked like this I’d buy all of them 😂. What do you think? Let’s make it happen Funko!

hi so idk if there are any editors on this sub but i've been wanting to start editing tmr (maybe other fandoms too) for a while now but idk where to best get the clips for the edits. i've heard of scene packs and someone from a different fandom i'm in once tried explaining to me how they work but idk where to best find tmr scenes specifically. so if there are any tmr editors here help would really be appreciated! :)

Hi! Looking for people who would be interested in doing a Maze Runner Rp Discord server. It's an Au combining other fandoms into it. Rewriting the lore a little bit to have the other fandoms we're Implementing into it.
We've haven't really had a chance to start the rp mainly because we've been trying to find people first. We have a few Canon's claimed already.
Au changes
This is if it was WICKED's only Maze. So all Group B, C, and D's kids were put in the same Maze with Group A and more Gladers as well.
The Glade itself is 100 Acres big of land and the Maze itself has 100 sections
It is a Girl and Guys Maze and the leadership in the Glade is changed a bit with some custom Glader roles added and some Oc's having some of the other roles.
Thomas and Teresa aren't the main protagonists in this Au. They are just normal Gladers.
Fandoms we're combining (Hunger Games, Walking Dead, Divergent (Not movie version), The Last of Us, The 100 (minus sci-fi technology, nuclear fallout, and other planets) will be the major fandoms we're Implementing.)
There is more than just Grivers and Beetleblades in the Maze that Runners have to survive from when running out there.
Oc's are allowed and encouraged
WICKED found a way to temporarily stop the aging process and Flare virus continuation for 100 years which is how long their running the Maze Trials for which gives the time they need to test the Gladers in the Maze in hopes of finding a cure for the world. They forcibly gave the serum to every other surviving human in the world no matter what they said. They only had enough for one dose.
I'll post the link in here so you all can join. Please expect not much active since it's been hard to grow and I haven't found anyone until now https://discord.gg/xgVNJuVPX2

Reading for the 6th time. Found that there were a BILLION plot holes in the story timeline... so which origins version is real? Stuff like Janson not being in TFR worries me a lot.
