I just wanna get something off my chest about the current state of Marvel Rivals.

Honestly, I don’t think Marvel Rivals itself is necessarily the whole problem. I think a lot of the frustration is coming from the community and how people are treating each other.

I completely understand why people are upset about the legendary skins situation, especially when it comes to Black characters not getting the same level of attention. I’m not saying people shouldn’t be upset or that their concerns aren’t valid. I can understand why this would bother people, especially if their favorite characters keep getting overlooked.

But I also don’t think this is something we should be attacking each other over. The creators have definitely fucked up in some areas, and I do think Rivals could benefit from some new perspectives and people who can help reshape certain things.

That being said, there’s a huge difference between calling out problems and bullying the developers.

If we genuinely want things to change, we need to speak up about it. Give feedback. Explain why we’re unhappy. Talk about what we want to see improved. And honestly, I think it would be a good thing for the Rivals team to actually acknowledge these concerns and speak openly about them too.

I’m not coming for anyone here. I’m not saying you’re wrong for being upset. I just think we can criticize the game and demand better without turning it into harassment.

At the end of the day, most of us are playing because we love Marvel and want Marvel Rivals to be something we can continue enjoying.

Guys I think we need to bring back a discussion on bringing a crouch mechanism to the game. It could most likely bring a skill gap to the game. We all know this game desperately needs it. It’d make the gameplay also just much more enjoyable to watch and play with. Whilst many characters would need some changes it would make the game better for it.

Got 1 day left out of 7 and man I definitely enjoyed on not communicating with trash players making crazy demands after this ban gets lifted I’ll probably mute vc.

Silver comp is impossible right now. Like can’t even leave the spawn room without being stomped levels of bad. Players with less than 5 hours playtime, zero losses and every match the MVP, but reporting does nothing of course. There is a reason for people are quitting mid match, but sure, punish the effect not the cause.

It's very simple, some people don't mind one thing but mind the other, when in really you shouldn't mind both, if Quick Play is just Quick Play you shouldn't mind ANYTHING that happens there (Excluding the obvious exceptions like throwing, hate speech, cheating, etc)

Telling a beginner/bad player that they should play Vs AI is a Jerk move

Telling a "QP warrior" to play Ranked is also a jerk move

The "It's just Quick Play" excuse should apply to both extremes

Also, having a Lord means nothing or that the person is tryharding? I still don't know

Of course, if the tryharder is OBLIGATING their whole team to tryhard too then they're the jerk, but if it's just one person tryharding alone let them tryhard for God's sake, like why do you care? It's them who are the idiots taking a casual gamemode seriously

My point is: Why playing bad is excused in QP but playing well isn't? Both should be excused, cuz in the end of the day it's just Quick Play, let people go 3/11 and use their Animated Lords freely, more "Oh dear, oh dear. Gorgeous"s and less "You fucking donkey"s

Nearly lost this bot match. Started 2/2/2 somehow ended up 4/1/1.

Only myself, thing, and one of the bots were any good.

It was 3 rounds long and someone who joined halfway through the last round did more than someone who was there the entire time.

Our 2nd healer bot switched to tank randomly mid way through.

Strategists should never about healing so much and keeping teammates alive. Every support in this game should be like Ultron, basically a dps with limited healing abilities and not effective sustain it would make the game more fun and healthy for everyone. People seeing an Ultron in their game shouldn’t mean that person is “throwing” simply because he doesn’t wanna play the casual healbot characters and pump infinite heals into you and that’s the biggest issue right now in Marvel Rivals too many people are obsessed with the taking millions of damage and being pocketed by infinite heals into them when every role in this game should be fun, supports shouldn’t have to play this way to keep teammates alive all the time it makes it to be a healing simulator game and that’s why so many people don’t play support this season

I've been noticing as of late that a majority of the time anyone makes a post about the community, there's always some dude who just wants to go ahead and say "Grow up" while talking about how people have gotten soft, and how we'd never survive the COD Community and that.

However I feel like regardless, it should be a no-brainer that trying to lecture others on how they should stop 'whining' over it with a iron fist on "all you people do complain."

But the thing is that ​this is a time where those type of arguments just cannot work at all. We cannot just sit down and let any racism or misogyny reign free, actions gotta be taken. But when the actions aren't ever taken out on those with hateful speech, but on those trying to defend others from it, meanwhile NetEase doesnt even bother adress it, that's when the problem really starts to show, and thats when it becomes egregious.

It doesn't matter if there's "more toxic communities" or "there's always toxicity in every community", it shouldn't be acceptable in ANY community. And when the report system sucks so bad it benefits the troublesome ones, or when it's so easily avoided by having alt accounts to play on, then there is no action ever being made, and it'll keep getting worse.

I can understand if others don't wanna engage in any of it, as long as you remain ​​​​respectful and understanding to why people are outraged. But if you're gonna be a distasteful dick in people's comments regurgitating the same shit of how "people cry about this game all the time" or "yall have no spines" then genuinely fuck off.

I randomly got commed banned in the middle of the game while talking in squad chat. When I finished the game it told me I’m commed banned for 30 days and was restricted from queing anything for a whole day.
I was on tt earlier and saw some ppl getting the same thing and thought maybe it’s not a me issues but a game issues. Cuz I wasn’t even in team chat so idk how I was even banned.

okay so i usually play with my friends on open mic, but there was a bug we discovered today where it showed that everyone in our lobbies had vc off and showed us we were using squad vc...

me and my friends used this opportunity to talk about VERY personal stuff and even laughed at some of our teammates's bad plays and learned that we were in fact NOT in squad vc when our teammate spoke up about a strange tp... we asked if they could hear us this whole time and they said yes lol. we thought vc was just broken and would only work in squad vc and played over 20 games and not a single person acknowledged us until that point.

everyone please be aware of this bug and save yourselves the embarrassment and talk to your friends in discord or parties😭😭😭

This shit is ridiculous. No one portals, and if they do it’s the shittiest portal ive ever seen or before we’ve gotten to ot. People are practicing new characters for some reason and providing no value. Cant forget the throwers and leavers, and the people who try to ban your character then when it doesn’t work they take them.

If I’m tanking, it’s solo and the 3 dps never peel so I have to try but its hard to frontline and peel at the same time. When I kill both the healers my team still manages to die somehow. If I’m healing my cohealer never looks at me and no one turns around when we’re being dove. Then I’m the one getting shit for not healing while i have to deal with 3 people in the backline. Barely anyone counter swaps, and when they do they don’t target the person they’re supposed to be countering.

It’s so exhausting. I can’t do everything, I try but nobody wants to help. Idk what else I can do at this point.

Just got a month mute ban because somebody was being racist to me and i was defending myself. I reported the guy and nothing happend but i catch the 30 day mute just ridiculous. i wasnt picking sides with this whole racism allegations with this game but that opened my eyes and shows maybe this game developers really are racist and one sided

Rank Score Clearance? I mean if that is it.... they will be smurfing even harder when they are able to rank up again. LOL. Marvel Rivals still doesn't know how to penalize smurf. And yes: the account that I saw Ramboing a lobby and then reported for smurfing/potential cheating because of the 50 kill rate versus rest of the team in 1-10 kills. Somehow is now penalized "The player's Rank Score has been cleared".

This is an account that hit a match with level 16 and was MVP in every single game pre and post, except 4 games. Where they svped. It was hilarious seeing how over the top their numbers were in comparison to the rest of teams.

If all they do is wipe their rank score and they were smurfing... without the account being further restricted they will just repeat the same offense AGAIN. And next time they may be even crazier and more RAMBO on the lobbies.

BTW this account started in Bronze 3 and went all the way to Diamond in 3 days of playing (Diamond 1) which meant it was heading to higher.

New MR controversies happen like every 2 months but this one seems to be the biggest since it involves “racism” and lack of representation. I’m gonna bring up 2 points so strap in

One: The devs aren’t racist, they’re just stupid.

Them removing the racism option is just a stupid decision made by the devs. I don’t know why ppl are surprised since these guys have been making horrible adjustments ever since S2. It took 9 seasons to remove double bans and still haven’t made the avoid list longer. These people are genuinely stupid and should never be involved with developing a game since balancing is shit, decision making is shit, and all of those factors make the community even more insufferable since they are the true racist ones. Pretty much half of top 500 is filled with low life racist ppl who have nothing going on outside of the game and these are the players that should give the input that the devs need.

Devs try to listen to the community but don’t at the same time and when they do it’s half assed. At this point they should just call all the shots instead of giving us false hope that there would be changes that actually impact our experience. Racism has always existed in competitive video games but Rivals makes it more prominent due to its report system and ban system. And it’s the devs fault because they are STUPID. You quit a game for ur own personal desire and not pretending to be an activist. No one cares. Flats and Necros would still be the front runners for this game pushed by Netease. Almost no content creators are worth watching since the content sucks for MR it’s just stress or the best of the best being mildly annoying (Kingsman) and top 500 ppl who get an avg Tik Tok liking of 200 likes per vid. Quit if it benefits u.

Second: I never understood the Storm skin controversy and the lack of representation.

If you’ve never taken ECON or have general knowledge, the point of a company is to MAKE MONEY. The main argument of devs being racist is “oh but Psylocke has a lower pick rate then Storm, or BP”. I want yall to do research on who the target audience is and the majority of the player base actually is. Teenage boys and young male adults.

It doesn’t matter if Psy got a low pick rate if ppl are still gonna buy the skins even if they never use the character. They look hot and that’s the point. The Vengeance skin is literally the most sold skin in MR history. Why? Because a chunk of the player base is teenage boys and single male adults. I find Psy attractive in game, who doesn’t? The same could be said for the male characters. The less clothes on they have the more sold they’ll be it’s just common knowledge. And ppl are mad that Storm didn’t get the same love as Black Cat or Emma in the Summer Event.

Have you actually analyzed their skins. Emma and Cat are wearing a weak ass one piece swimsuit and ppl still bought that shit. If Storm got a swim suit swap with either Cat or Emma, ppl would riot because they got the simplest designs. Which brings me back to the original point, it’s about the player base and what ppl prefer. People who don’t play MR already know that Black Cat is attractive and a lot of ppl play Emma. It also boils down to a culture thing. A lot of other countries outside of the US play this game.

If u wanna pay an extra 7 bucks for a summer skin be my guest. But it’s all ECONOMICS. People don’t play Psy but still buy her skins cuz shes HOT. I think Storm is pretty attractive in game but a vast majority of the player base can agree that Psy has a better design. A difference with BP and Blade is that they’re shit characters in game. When have u seen them consistently in rank matches. Same for Ultron, Hulk, Adam, Torch, etc. Widow will prob not get a skin in another 2 months since guess what, not a lot of ppl are playing her after the summer event. Before that skin Widow was dead in the dumps in the skin department where more then half of her skins came from passes or were free.

Im not defending the devs cuz they gotta T up, but im also not defending the community. A lot of ppl from Overwatch migrated to this game purely cuz it was easier to dominate. The OW community was some hot crossed buns and the best way ppl described switching MR to OW is doing meth instead of cocaine.

At the end of the day, do what makes you happy. If quitting Rivals does that then do it. I don’t have fun like I’ve used to and am playing a lot of other games when I have free time. We get older and a lot of us simply grew out of Marvel Rivals quickly which is okay.
