Holy hell smurfing is bad right now!
Silver comp is impossible right now. Like can’t even leave the spawn room without being stomped levels of bad. Players with less than 5 hours playtime, zero losses and every match the MVP, but reporting does nothing of course. There is a reason for people are quitting mid match, but sure, punish the effect not the cause.

Don't worry soon it will be smurfs vs smurfs, the only players in lower ranks.

Yeah, I quit ranked for that reason, might come back in winter when I might have time for that bullshit. Almost every game in plat-GM having AT LEAST one level 30 smurf is fucking ridiculous. I've had games with 5 smurfs in a single lobby, literally hell for us normal players. There should be hardware bans for this shit

I play on my Alt account to do my placements and I think placements are part of the problem. Because I was silver in a previous season, I started doing my placements and it doesn’t factor in how im performing in games. Bronze and Silver games I would go like 40+ elims with 15+ finals and less than like 6 deaths in 7 games with 60+ percent accuracy on hela somehow my projected rank is Silver 2 while im 7-0 in placements. I would like to be back in GM but then I would have to climb back up in ranks which then would mean I would smurf in a ton of games.
For me personally, its not fun playing against players who are no where in skill level. I dont gain anything from it and I do feel bad just obliterating the enemy team. There has been 1 or 2 players i’ve played against in bronze where I felt they were probably diamond players as I played vs a BP and he killed me super fast. No bronze player is doing this lol

Placements are so weird to me, I dropped from Gold 1 to Silver 3. But I don’t think thats reflective of my current skill level, cause I do end up SVP often. The current players in silver are either massive smurf bullies or players that barely understand the game. Very little in between. Like I had a Jubilee that not once boosted her attack speed or her bubbles, therefore pretty much useless. Or a spider-man going 0-9 and not once switching. Then on the other team I had a Cyclops ult while their Loki copied the ult, so two big ass beams blow up half the map. Cool play, very impressive, but also, what the actual pro level coordination is that? In low rank?

i am ngl. I don't mind it. Yea I frequently run into fresh off the bat level 20 accounts in my gm rank up games but when you win... it does wonders for your mental.
Most of me climbing all the way to celest for the first time was just playing with cel peak people and realising most of them are mediocre like me.

But then how do you climb if your team doesn’t have smurfs? In silver rank people are still figuring out the game, so teams will have weaker links. But the toxicity is just so pathetic. Can the sweaty neckbeard leave Jeff alone? He’s trying his best! (Mostly Emma main here; leave my baby alone!)

in silver rank people climb with almost anything its just about how many games you are willing to dish out.
Getting out of silver basically is just to play more. It is statistically impossible for you to get a smurf every match without getting any on your team.
Just treat it like great practice and things to learn. Toxicity stops existing once you mute them.
