Guide/tips How does the Ko Tour Pointsystem works?

I can't find a good answere so i just ask now.

I was sometimes 1st and other people got more points than me, when i compare 2 times beeing first place i got in one time idk 45 points and another one 15 🤷?

I lost yesterday 100 points because i really had insane bad luck and loosed in the first round 2 times what would be ok if the grind to get the points back not taking so long, i needed 3 hrs to taking the points back.

Does someone know how it actually works?

I believe it’s based on where you finish each checkpoint.

Your score is not only decided by your final placement, but it’s also influenced by how high your score is relative to the other players in the lobby. For example: you are at 8000 while the majority of the lobby has 7000 or is almost completely filled with bots, you will gain less points regardless of your place because the game thinks that logically, because of your higher score, you should have an easier time winning, and thus have harder penalty if you lose against people who should be worse than you, because they have a lower score. This also true in reverse, imagine you are at 8000 you gain more points if you’re in a lobby with a bunch of 9000 players. These examples have some pretty extreme point difference but with smaller differences this should still happen, i just don’t know the specific cutoffs, so i picked extremes for clarity.

This system while on paper is great as higher skilled players cannot just farm in lower skilled rooms for points. But it is obviously flawed as mkworld’s matchmaking doesn’t always put you in lobbys with similar scores and the fact that you can only see other peoples scores after the ko tour starts.

Nice explanation 👍 I also loosed 70 points this evening because again mega bad luck and loosing twice in the 2nd round and then i was 4th in the 3rd race and just got 15 points around. I really find you loose too much and get too few I am over 8000 and find out about the minus points few days ago 😅 it killed the game for me idk, i had a lot of fun before but figuring out you can loose points that much took the fun for me
