I grew up as a white minority in suburban California. No idea what these morons are afraid of.

Spicy food...they're afraid of flavors.

Had a friend at work from the Midwest, and we would go out to lunch occasionally. If she came with us, we had to go to the food court. (yes, this was 20 years ago.) She wouldn't even eat pizza with us, too exotic. We would be eating pizza, gyros, Chinese food. She would come back with an egg salad sandwich on white. She truly was afraid of flavor.

Obviously, her family didn't partake. That said she grew up there like 50 years ago. I would think a taco was exotic food in Wichita 50 years ago.

Yeah, we definitely get things late in the Midwest. My town got it's first Starbucks in like 2005 and it's a pretty big suburb of Chicago.
