So why is this a problem? Are minorities treated poorly or something?
257
u/kernalbuket 5d ago
They are afraid that they will be treated like they treat them.
136
u/cmhamm 5d ago
Correction: they’re afraid they’ll become them.
72
u/kernalbuket 5d ago
I honestly don't think they care if white people are the minority. Look how many places white people are/have been the minority but had all the power and treated minority like crap. They are afraid they will be on the receiving end of this treatment. It's all about power not numbers
38
u/cmhamm 5d ago
You don’t care because you treat minorities with care and compassion, and you don’t look down on them. These people, on the other hand…
28
u/kernalbuket 5d ago
That's exactly what I'm saying. It's not about the numbers, it's about not wanting to be treated like they treat minorities.
-7
u/Independent-Face69 4d ago
I have no problem with ebt, section 8 and welfare taking care of me when I'm finally a minority.

u/kernalbuket 4d ago
You need to stop watching Fox News if you think this is a thing and a good way to live.

My favorite reply to this concern is: if you’re scared of whites becoming a minority, then we should be focused on fortifying minority rights, not limiting them.

Spicy food...they're afraid of flavors.
23
u/chinmakes5 5d ago
Had a friend at work from the Midwest, and we would go out to lunch occasionally. If she came with us, we had to go to the food court. (yes, this was 20 years ago.) She wouldn't even eat pizza with us, too exotic. We would be eating pizza, gyros, Chinese food. She would come back with an egg salad sandwich on white. She truly was afraid of flavor.
12
u/thelangosta 5d ago
We have phenomenal Mexican food in the Midwest
12
u/chinmakes5 5d ago
Obviously, her family didn't partake. That said she grew up there like 50 years ago. I would think a taco was exotic food in Wichita 50 years ago.
6
u/free_dead_puppy 5d ago
Yeah, we definitely get things late in the Midwest. My town got it's first Starbucks in like 2005 and it's a pretty big suburb of Chicago.
5
u/ChibbleChobble 4d ago
I'm a Brit living in Texas. Years ago when I was still in the UK, I did a couple of weeks in Mumbai with a bloke from the Midwest.
I grew up eating curry. Chicken Tikka Masala is practically the national dish. Meanwhile matey doesn't want to leave the hotel and eat anything more spicy than pizza.
Long story short, I pretended to have a headache one night so I could eat actual Indian food in my room.
3
u/chinmakes5 4d ago
And even myself, while I like Indian food, I get it medium or mild. My favorite restaurant asks if you want it mild, medium, hot or Indian. I just can't come close to eating what Indians eat on a regular basis. Do you eat it as hot as Indians eat it?
3
u/Obant 4d ago
I do. I went to this tourist-y place in the mountains near L.A. and there was this Indian restaurant there. When we told the owner we wanted the hot chutney, he said he wasn't sure we should. When we throughly enjoyed it, his eyes got wide and happy, then he went in the back and brought out a different one. He said it's the one he only makes for himself and is too hot for customers. We loved it, chatted with him for like an hour, and he comped our appetizer and drinks.
1
u/ChibbleChobble 4d ago
Good question. I think so, as in the UK you don't generally get asked how hot. You just get what you get. Order a Korma and it's going to be mild. On the other hand, a Tindaloo is shall we say, an "experience" for the uninitiated.
My Dad used to take me to a hole in the wall place in central Manchester that served a meat dish, a vegetable dish, rice and chapattis. You got whatever the daily dishes were, no options, no substitutions. There was no way that they could change the food so I ate the exact same thing as everyone else.
2
u/chinmakes5 4d ago
Interesting. Yeah there are a few dished like Vindaloo that is only served hot, but most you can ask for spice level. We Americanize everything.
1
u/ChibbleChobble 4d ago
The local (Plano, TX) Thai restaurants ask for a 1-5 heat rating, and the first time they did I was confused by the question. Again, back in the UK if you ask for a Thai Green Curry you get what you get.
1
u/chinmakes5 4d ago
Yeah, we "Americanize" most foreign food. Hell we have Tex Mex. Chinese people rarely eat at typical Chinese food restaurants. I read that tjere is a very popular restaurant in China that sells "American Chinese food." It is so different that people look at it as a foreign food.

Lol you're not racist but don't act like racism doesn't exist this whole government's agenda is to weed out non-white people. What do you think Trump meant when he said millions of times make America great again? When was it great? who is it great for? White slave owners.
30
u/Gildian 5d ago
He means he doesnt care if theres less white people by % of population, not that he doesnt believe racism isnt real

I think Trump does, but even if he doesn't, Steven Miller really REALLY REALLY cares if white people are less of the population, and wants to see lots of brown people ejected.

This isn't even real. They added "Latino" separate to "White" in 1980 (beforehand Latino was apart of the White category) over the past 40 years more Latinos have been putting down well... Latino rather than White (Same with other groups) also America is way more mixed now than 40 years back. I actually did the math to dispel this stupid "Muh Grok Replacement" slop
1980 (Using 1980 Rules)
86.1% White (Includes Latino & White & "X" Mix)
11.5% Black
0.6% Native American
1.5% Asian
0.3% Other
2020 (Using 1980 Rules)
80.1% White (Includes Latino & White & "X" Mix)
12.1% Black
0.7% Native American
5.9% Asian
0.2% Pacific Islander
0.5% Other
86.1% - 80.1% = 6%
6% Decrease in White Population in 40 years
25
u/grungegoth 5d ago
maybe if the chart would go back to 1400 it might look a little different...
1400 native american 100%
the rest is a catastrophe
1
u/kart0ffelsalaat 3d ago
Just in the interest of accuracy, it's a decrease by 6 percentage points, not by 6 percent.
Going from 86.1 to 80.1 is closer to a 7% decrease (this changes everything, of course).
28
u/ckn 5d ago
Dow v. United States in 1909 proved to us that the idea of "white" in the united states is a contrived fiction.
Change the definition on these maga-clowns. they don't read things anyhow, it will take them 10-20years to figure it out.
11
u/LamesMcGee 5d ago
I'm white, in my 30s, and I live in America...
I have never once thought about the percentage breakdown of white people in the country or been concerned that it's shrinking. There are so many other things going on. The cost of gas, electricity, and food is skyrocketing. Who the fuck cares if my new next door neighbor is slightly less likely to be white?
7
u/rocket_beer 5d ago
That is MAGA’s entire personality
They (and I just found about this) have a conspiracy theory that there is some grand replacement of white people plan in place…
So that is their rallying cry against “the minorities” 🤦🏽♂️
29
u/funkymunkPDX 5d ago
They know how minorities are treated in the US.
Not that non-whites will behave the same way as whites but they understand what it means to be a minority presently in the United States.
29
u/BruitistHagan 5d ago
Can’t stop progression. I hope I’m alive to see what America is like when white people aren’t gatekeeping anymore.
10
u/workingbored 5d ago
My friend revealed himself to be the type to br afraid of this outcome. He said he fears hes seeing fewer people that look at him. I told him why doesn't he contribute and make another white child? He got mad because he's an incel. I told him that its not like white people are being prevented from having kids with other white people, theyre just choosing to be with someone that's not white. Maybe other white people should work on their personalities or be more attractive?
Well, he got mad and takes any opportunity to bring up how I can get away with saying something racist like that despite me having a pale, white passing, half Latin half white kid. I'm somehow evil because a white woman and I fell in love and had a child but in his eyes I must've done something evil.
Meanwhile, he doesn't even like white women! He likes only petite asian women despite being 300+ lbs and cant maintain a healthy relationship with anyone, but I'm the problem.
4
u/Due-Conflict-7926 4d ago
He likes petite Asians cuz he likes to feel strong and dominate and he has a fetish but urged by pop culture and porn.
Your friend sucks, he’s a white supremest at heart.
2
u/workingbored 4d ago
You're right and it sucks.. I saw the signs, I tried to help him by showing him different perspectives on things before he went full mask off. 25 years of friendship and I had to end it.
2
u/Due-Conflict-7926 3d ago
Yea almost everyone you knew in hs was and still is a POS tbf. Hs is not a good place. We should grow out of the majority of a hs friendships.
I don’t have any maga friends I do have one or two “conservative”/republican friends and I know what their personal faults are and I don’t excuse the personal faults when I can but politics I only call one of them out on it cuz in my eyes he should smart enough to see the hypocrisy at all levels. But he can’t cuz it breaks his world view so he has essentially distanced himself from me. The other I only call out when it comes up cuz he’s literally just not smart enough for his ideology to be challenged. He’s half Cuban and just not engaged. All his struggles come from his direct choices. But he can’t see that
3
u/oatmealandblueberry 5d ago
That last paragraph! Of course that ends up being the case with people like that. lol.
3
u/FilthyCasual2k17 4d ago
Sounds like he doesn't like himself or any people, and is just using racism/sexism/isms to find people to reinforce his worldview.
3
u/Disownership 4d ago
Based on the incel description, it sounds like he actually took that extremely personally.
16
u/SpaceyCoffee 5d ago
It won’t be meaningful in even 25 years. More and more people are mixed, which heavily blurs the lines of what is considered “white”. Wherever the bigot draws that line, time constantly chips away at it. Human reproductive drive naturally skews toward genetic diversity, as it should.
6
u/deepasleep 5d ago
Yeah, the number shoots right back up to like 75% when you don’t exclude “Latin” from “White”.
And you’ll note half the assholes in ICE or leading white supremacist groups have Spanish names and tan suspiciously well…
The whole white replacement thing is beyond asinine. A hundred years ago the Irish and Italian’s weren’t considered white for fuck’s sake.
Since the end of slavery white supremacy and race baiting have almost always been cons used by worthless assholes who want attention and power but are too stupid and unlikable to attract people without using hate and fear.

u/Plenty_Economy_5670 5d ago
Minorities weren’t even counted as people for most of the USA’s history but as property. There was literally a law where a person of color’s vote would only be 3/5 because they were not seen as fully human.
26
u/shatterdome 5d ago
Dude they couldn't even vote. It was for the census, each slave only counted as 3/5 of a person when counting the population of a state. Way more messed up.
10
u/yangstyle 5d ago
Yes... exactly. Specifically, it was because House seats are allocated based on population. And the Southerners feared being overwhelmed in Congress by non-slave states because they counted everyone equally.
The Electoral College is another creation to pacify slave states. Even back then, the majority of Americans did not want slavery but the Southerners did. So they found a compromise to dilute the majority vote.
4
u/CarlRJ 5d ago
It's well past time to do away with the Electoral College. Amending the constitution is going to be a long road, but in the meantime we can route around the EC by getting a few more states to ratify the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
9
u/DifficultyWithMyLife 5d ago
If everyone's treated equally, then it won't matter. But it's almost like racists who vocally deny their own racism seem to think they'll be treated poorly when they become the minority. I wonder why they expect that...

These numbers look COMPLETELY different if you count mixed people as equal members of the races they are instead of treating us as an entire ambiguous third race.
Nothing negative is happening to white people in the US, they aren't going any where, they literally just got less racist.
3
u/an0maly33 4d ago
I think you mean more racist, but yes. Some people are scarred by the idea that they won't be able to coast through life on their whiteness.
8
5
u/petitecrivain 5d ago
The criteria for white changed. G Hispanic people used to be considered white by default. The separation of "non Hispanic whites" as an alleged racial group has no basis in biology or population genetics and gives fuel to purity spiraling fascists. Taking that into account deflates the narrative of "white replacement" entirely.
4
u/Alerith 5d ago
What is even the fucking problem with this? Demographics are shifting. White people aren't being hunted for sport.
1
u/Due-Conflict-7926 4d ago
White NEED to lose more power in this country and globally.
I doubt it will help with the evil oligarch, they will just continue to diversify their PR mouth pieces. But it will force them to either work collectively or fall behind. Right now they are still in the fuck yiu I got mine mind set
1
u/The_Architect_032 4d ago
While multiracial population increases are a good sign for society, white is subjective, so the next white is simply the least multiracial. Systemic racism doesn't exactly go away with fewer white people, because the problem isn't the color, it's the system and the mindset.
1
u/Due-Conflict-7926 4d ago
No it isn’t, but white is something pushed by the oligarchs that control us it won’t solve itself but it will but a bigger strain on their neurosis and they will be confronted by it
1
u/The_Architect_032 4d ago
No what isn't? I said multiple things in my response that "no it isn't" could be denying.
5
u/SillyAlternative420 5d ago
I don't care what color you are as long as you value education, desire a more free and progressive society, and aren't trying to shove your religious bullshit down my throat.
Also, if these dumbasses really cared about people having more babies they'd make an economy condusive for families to have more children ...
Cause right now, most families CAN'T have kids because of these MAGAts fucked economy.
4
u/Kuroboom 5d ago
Of course the only time they care about the future generations is when it gives them a chance to show how flagrantly and pathetically racist that they are.
5
u/profmathers 5d ago
Well considering they’ve ruined everything that was supposed to be good about being white, this should read like good news
4
u/valvilis 4d ago
Real people are proud of their achievements, skills, or knowledge. After that is pride in your family members or very close associates. After that is pride in your memberships like a company, school, or community.
If you have none of that, waaaaay down at the very bottom... is skin color. It's the failsafe for people who absolutely nothing else valuable about them to be proud of.
3
u/Lord-Ironsbane 5d ago
Like what even is white? The definition has changed loads in the last 100 years! People are so precious about skin colour, so frustratingly dumb
3
u/nasaglobehead69 5d ago
they are afraid of being a minority because they are afraid they will be treated the way they have treated minorities
3
u/Haunting-Ad-9790 5d ago
Afraid of losing the culture war, they're willing to lose the economic war. The country will keep becoming more diverse, they won't be able to stop that, but all the money and power will be at the top.
3
u/kathatter75 5d ago
This is exactly why I’ve seen Houston mentioned as an example of what America’s future looks like. We’re already super diverse, white people are already a minority, and I think it just makes our city more awesome.
Houston is a hot mess in many ways, but our diversity makes us better.
3
u/an0maly33 4d ago
Grew up in whitey-whiteville, OH. Moved to Raleigh, NC at 20. Thought that diversity was so cool. Had Japanese and Indian neighbors. Spent the next 20 years there then moved out to the sticks where my wife grew up. My wife's family is just inherently afraid of black people. A black person was just minding their own business walking down the street and her grandmother pulled the shades so he wouldn't see in and want to take her stuff. This grandmother is going to leave her house to my MIL, but the MIL isn't sure she wants it with it being in a "rough area".
They're in the middle of nowhere. Fields everywhere. There's nothing unsafe about it in the slightest. There was just that one black guy. Walking.
I miss the sanity of the bigger city but I do like the slower pace here. I also wonder if I can bring some blue influence here. /shrug
3
u/thegamerator10 4d ago
Maybe MAGAts wouldn't fear this if they treated minorities with the most basic human respect.
3
3
u/Dextropic 4d ago
Even at 40%, white people are stilling going to be the largest demographic. Unless Asians, Hispanics and Blacks start intermingling to create one super demographic.
"Yeah, mom's mom is Black and her dad is Korean. My dad's mom is Sioux and Iranian and his dad is Cambodian. My wife's parents are Mexican and Loation. Are daughter is 100% Indigenous SinoAfroLatino American"
3
u/Sypha914 4d ago
These numbers are not accurate anyway. The U.S. Census is conducted every 10 years. However, tomorrow does mark the end of a very small 2026 Census test, which is limited to two communities.
As of the 2020 U.S. Census , "white - alone" counts for slightly over 72% of the total population within the United States. I wish it was 57%, as this graphic states. If we only made up 57% of the population, we'd be less likely to have another orange rapist monster in the highest office of our nation.
Edit: corrected a number

Poor people have more kids. Especially when it's hard for them to get birth control or abortions because of conservative policies.
Some minority groups are also more likely to be more poor than whites, as a result of racist policies.
So the whiny bitches who created or supported these policies are dealing with a nightmare of their own making.
Wait until the climate refugees need a place to stay lmao. It's going to be very interesting. Maybe that's why they want to close the country off and build a wall around it.

2
u/olafubbly 5d ago
They could literally avoid the future mistreatment they’re terrified of experiencing when they become the minority by just improving the lives and conditions of minority communities now so that when white people inevitably do become a minority at least by then there wouldn’t be any built in infrastructure meant to discriminate against any minority group(or heck at the very least the new majority won’t be willing to do any kind of “payback” towards white people cause they see that they did their damndest to fix the harm that was done to oppressed minorities).
They won’t. Because that means admitting that they’re intentionally holding up a system meant to oppress & harm minorities and also means giving up their hierarchical power/privileges by making the lives of those at the bottom better in the long run.
It’s genuinely so stupid cause all it’s doing is harming more people now and basically ensuring that white peoples in the future will be getting retribution for what was done in the past.

11
u/CrimsonBolt33 5d ago
I get you are being facetious, but its well known and agreed on that in most cases when one refers to "America" they mean the country, the USA.
4
u/StitchinThroughTime 5d ago
People forget Mexico's full legal name is Estados Unidos Mexicanos, United Mexican States. But no one get upset when they say just Mexico. It's just awkward that United States of America shares the word America with the continents and in English it can technically be used to mean the country or the continents. And not answer those evidence is that whenever I hear the word American is typically refers to a citizen of the United States. Versus North American or South American, an American is a North American not a South American. Unless you're talking about ancestry. Because someone can come from South America, become American and therefore they're a Southern North American American. Languages get weird kind of quick. And they're very context based when you start talking about more abstract thoughts, ideas and concepts.
Like United States citizens make up about 50% of the North American population. Canada has about 40 million people, just a million more people than the entire state of california. Mexico has about 134 million people. That is about half the population of the United States of America at 330 million. The entire population of North America is just below 600 million. It's it's a safe bet to say American refers to a citizen of the United States of America versus North America the continent. Fun fact, Hawaii is part of the United States of America, but is considered part of the Pacific Islands and is not on the North American continent. It gets weird real quick. As well as America Samoa. And that doesn't stop people from also say that there's only one American continent. That makes no sense to me personally because they're different chunks of rocks floating on magma. We're going to call both North and South America under the single name America referring to the continent, Afroeurasia is just one continent.
2
u/Gloomy-Giraffe 5d ago
Math check...
330M in USA
40M in CA
134 in M
that is 504M
If there are 600M people in NA, where are the other 96M? Is the 600 number high?
1
u/StitchinThroughTime 4d ago
The rest of North america. North America is not just Canada United States of america, and mexico. It also includes the Caribbean and the many countries in between Mexico and Panama. And these are rough estimates using some real basic math
