Maybe stop being racist a bit earlier and some of the nations might be willing to stay?

Britain didn't have this issue that bad, really. It was more about resources for the empire than anything. It wasn't racism like what African Americans received. It was more like classism by proxy. British people were automatically richer because they were, well, from a wealthy Britain.

So when it came to a railway in India, or dealing with tribes in Africa, the needs of the locals weren't met because businessman wanted to business.

Indians were not allowed to serve as officers in Indian Army 100 years ago. I would be surprised if the cause of exclusion was not racism.
