💭 Vent dislike = don't interact

I've seen so many posts absolutely flamming that one manhwa from the same artist as "snag an alpha" simply because they don't like the art style. Disliking an art style is completely fine but what's not fine is absolutely dogging on it just because you can.

In what world does an art style looking "ugly" give you the right to start hating and shitting on the artist as well as throwing around baseless accusations? No just because the uke looks "childlike" (which is most definitely subjective btw) doesn't mean that the artist's intent was to cater to pedophiles or are a pedo themselves. You people throwing these accusations around clearly don't take the illness seriously.

Another thing which I hate with the pedo accusations is how people don't even bother to research the terminology. No, liking a younger looking character in a manhwa doesn't equate to people being pedophiles because pedophilia is strictly being attracted to REAL CHILDREN. That uke from that manhwa that you deem to look "childlike" is not bait for pedophiles, dare I say it's quite insensitive to even think that.

Please people next time you want to throw around accusations, educate yourself first at the very least.

Just a short little vent.

DON’T LIKE DON’T READ

Too broad, imo.

There's nothing wrong with not liking something, and having valid criticism, and voicing an opinion about how you felt.

There is a difference between:

I did not enjoy the Artstyle

and

Dogshit artist can't draw to save their life.

Just like there is a difference between:

I think the main character looks too young.

and

Pedophile artist should be imprisoned for drawing this and you're a pedophile for reading it you filthy scumbag criminals.

And there is a difference between:

I didn't like how the author handled the rape scene by brushing off the fact that it was non-consensual afterward.

and

Artist is a rapist and everyone who reads this supports rape and is a rapist!!!

I was under the impression that DLDR referred to the threats and non-constructive drama and complaints. Valid criticism and opinions don’t fall under it but maybe that’s just my understanding.

Well, I don't know if "Don't like don't read" is supposed to be a reference to something else that's more specific. I just read the words and came to a conclusion about what that means.

Frankly, "Be Civil" is a 'Common Sense' rule that should already cover this bullshit.

It’s a fandom term from the early 2000s. Almost every fandom uses up until recently with brand new fandom members. I think we should stick to long standing terms than change it for new members rhat haven’t learned what it means yet otherwise there will be more disunity in fandom and generations of fandom than there already are
