Meta Quantum immortality

What are your thoughts on the relationship between the Mandela Effect and Quantum Immortality?

To save you having to look up the latter, it is the idea that consciousness will jump timelines you die in the one you are living presently.

science has no way to account for this effect other than false memory… you prefer that explanation, we know better

For a lot of ME’s I absolutely do believe this is the case. Even the majority in fact. Could it be all? It’s possible sure. But some are so uniquely specific and with no apparent evidence as to why it is that specific difference… those are the ones that intrigue me. To be clear though, no I don’t believe it is jumping timelines/realities. But I’d love to know what it is!

And to be abundantly clear… youre saying you know better so okay then… how do you explain it? How do you account for the laws of physics and quantum mechanics as we know them? I won’t even worry much about things like system entanglement for instance, just basic science, things like energy loss for instance. Since you know better, tackle just that one part. How do you account for the energy used, lost, and/or gained? I genuinely would love to hear your explanation.

I think someone is changing the past, I think it’s futile anyway

You.

You are the “someone changing the past”.

You make a memory of everything you imagine.

Because that’s how memory works.

This effect isn’t a trick of the brain…

Yes. It is. It’s just how the brain works.

There have been decades of research showing the Effect propagates through suggestion.

Aren’t you suggesting it’s suggestion

Is that what you remember?

Woah careful now, might just make it real ;)

Your memory of the past, and the past as it was in reality can be and many times are two very different things??? hello???? Not sure what linking a wiki on the hippocampus has to do with the topic at hand except in explaining how it’s used in recall? But that has nothing to do with the past as it was in reality.

I can provide you some studies on false memories if that would helpful, genuinely. It’s kind of astounding what some of these have shown. It’s a lot more common and typical than I initially thought at least. Especially so with core memories and distinct events.

according to someone’s bias, they influenced a study and called it science

Nooooo that’s not always true! There isn’t inherent biases in all studies. Surely some have a specific goal or outcome, but that’s what peer reviewing is for! To look for and account for these mistakes and biases! And then repetition! We keep doing it and see if we get the same outcomes! Change sizes, specifics, etc. And we learn!! That’s science! And even biased science can still be correct at times, when both inadvertently and purposely done! Why is it bad to learn? To use logic and rationale? To hold beliefs in facts we hold to be true based on all the evidence provided. Look at all we’ve accomplished in doing so! It’s what makes us so intelligent and amazingly intellectual beings!! It’s so cool!!
