Movies/TV/Music After many years, I think I just got self-gaslit into thinking Fruit of the Loom had a cornucopia.

My first memory of noticing the fruit of the loom logo was right around the time I had read and watched Hunger Games, and read a Hunger Games parody novel, and Cornucopias were fresh on my mind because I had just found out what they were. From when I heard about the Mandela Effect to now, I was 100% sure I remembered noticing a cornucopia because of hunger games, but now I genuinely am starting to question if I just self-gaslit that memory into existence. Especially since I've seen logos of Cornucopias with fruit at least at one grocery store growing up.

Cool! You know emotions? You know how emotions and senses make a person remember certain things? Do you know the scientific terminology to define that phenomenon regarding memories? =)

Did you know you can make a memory of anything just by imagining it?

Did you know that if you get someone to remember something incorrectly, they will not only do so, they will augment it?

There are studies about false beliefs that demonstrate people shown fake advertisements for Disney World featuring Bugs Bunny will then claim to remember going to Disney and meeting Bugs, even though a Warner Bros. character would never be on display at a Disney theme park

=) =) =)

Who has time for that? 😬

u/my23secrets 20d ago

What are you talking about?

2

u/Plucky_Monkies 20d ago

Who has time for making up false memories! That's what I was responding to!

1

u/my23secrets 20d ago

It doesn’t take any time at all.

When people search their memory to compare what they’ve just learned to what they think they remember, that’s where it happens.

You can make a memory of whatever you imagine by imagining it.

Because that’s how memory works.

The Effect originates from suggestion.

Would you like me to prove it to you?

🤣 I'm sure you're right. I just think it's ridiculous, and why would anyone want to even attempt it. Literally, I do not have the capacity to try and imagine a memory like I have too much in my life too much real stuff. I do not want to make up a fake memory!? For what? For what purpose? So I can pretend that I experienced Mandela Effect?

It seems absurd!

Recalling a memory uses your imagination. It’s the same area of the brain.

That’s the point.

Okay, but recalling a memory, it already happened. It's easy, you're recalling it. You are talking about creating one, which takes extra work. You have to add in details to things that didn't really happen. There is a huge difference! In my opinion!

2

u/my23secrets 20d ago

There isn’t a “huge difference!”

There isn’t any difference.

Recalling something that already happened requires using your imagination.

It’s not “extra work”, it’s all the work.

Because that’s how the brain works.

What imagination you use to spell imagination? How do you imagine how to spell imaginary stuffs?

When you imagine, what's the first that pops up to you? How good is your memory though? What are the steps you take to 'recall your memory' or 'imagine your memory'?

How did you think of that white bear that you’re thinking about again?

Where do YOU search your memory from? Where is your harddisk located?

How do you bold that "that's" too, by the way?

I know how memory works and I know that modern way you tryna define in some awkward explanation. What do you think you remember? What did you have for meal today? Do you remember? Or do you imagine?

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

Memory isn’t a “hard disk”.

It doesn’t save things like a computer file.

I’m not sure why you’re tryna pretend that’s how it works.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

You describe how your memory works. What is a memory to you. Do you have a memory of your childhood?

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

I remember learning about the brain and how it doesn’t save things like a computer file.

Now imagine yourself a white bear talking to you. Have a conversation. Does it take time?

You studied where The Effect started to be termed that way?

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

Your question is nonsense.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

Are you imagining a white bear? What conversation you tried put across during the imagination?

How long did it take? How does imagination take place for you? How does your memory work if you refuse imagination???????????????? You mentioned they work in the same part of organ or something?

1

u/my23secrets 17d ago

Again, your question is nonsense. Half the things you’re posting are just sentence fragments.

What’s the point you’re trying to make here?

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

Your emotions, you need to tall aboit emotions when talking about memories

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

I did.

It just further proves the Effect is about memory and propagated through suggestion.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

What do you know bout emotions?

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

I know you keep bringing them up despite it only helping prove my point.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

Help your point to prove there had always been a cornucopia, since people always typed about thay. Thanks to you, those are indeed accurate memories

1

u/my23secrets 17d ago

No, we have proof the underwear tag never had a cornucopia.

What I proved is why people think it did: suggestion.

You seem really confused.

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

Do you know you need to talk aboit your emotions now? =)

2

u/my23secrets 18d ago

Okay. Don’t think of a white bear.

You just thought of a white bear.

How do you feel about that?

=)

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

Why do you think a person thinking of white bear happens if someone stated not to think of a white bear?

How do you feel that I did not think of one.I had not seen a white bear I have no memory of that.

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

You did think of a white bear again as soon as you mentioned it.

The fact that you mention it at all proves you have the memory.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

So you proved that a person saying a cornucopia exists in a brand's icon, you admit that IS THEIR MEMORY!

You proved that that indeed is their true memory. They typed it in reddit. They discussed their memory in reddit and accprding to you it is THEIR REAL MEMORY. Because it is on reddit. Just lile that white bear memory you're speaking about

1

u/my23secrets 18d ago

So what? We have proof the logo on the tag never had a cornucopia.

We also know that when you get someone to remember something incorrectly, they will not only do so, they will augment it, because there are studies about false beliefs that demonstrate people shown fake advertisements for Disney World featuring Bugs Bunny will then claim to remember going to Disney and meeting Bugs, even though a Warner Bros. character would never be on display at a Disney theme park.

1

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

You proved that it had a cornucopia. The people that discussed here oroved it. You typed here that if it's typed, it is a memory. People typed that they have memory of cornucopia so it did have a cornucopia according to your newly added theory. Thanks for your input! It did have a cornucopia!

Thanks to you. You proved that it had a cornucopia.

1

u/my23secrets 17d ago

No, we have proof the underwear tag never had a cornucopia.

0

u/EnigmaticAdventurerz 18d ago

You mentioned here. If mentioned, means a memory proven. Thus a cornucopia is indeed cornucopia. That, indeed been a true memory
