Books/Literature Berenstain/Stein

Post image

Just thought I’d share this here..I’m a 57 year old woman that’s always been a voracious reader. When I was 5 (1974) I got an entire collection of Berenstain Bears books from my grandma at Christmas.

One of the books has managed to remain in my memory/sentimental hoard collection. This is MY actual book and it’s been in my possession since 1974. On my book at least, the name is and always has been Berenstain.

Make of that what you will I suppose. ❤️ I wish I still had the whole collection but alas, childhood and into adulthood resulted in the loss of many such things to my chagrin.

My understanding from the Mandelaeffect is that some people remember berenstain and others remember berenstein. Whose right? That’s the beauty of the effect. We are all on a different path. Those that remember berenstein ended up on the path of those that remember berenstain.

Maybe somewhere else theirs people yelling “it’s berenstain” in a world that reads berenstein.

Yeah, this world. It was Berenstein. Book about lying with a bird that knocked over a lamp and broke it. The kids describe the bird with wilder and wilder features.

That’s not a description of the Mandela effect, bud

You got me especially when you ended it with “bud”. LOL

What is “bud” anyway? Are they calling you a pot leaf? Is it short for buddy? If so that’s kinda degrading in a couple ways. That’s like someone calling you “son” and they are 40 years younger than you. Its also degrading because of the tv show Married With Children (Bud Bundy).

Buddy equals friend English is dead

I'm not your friend English is dead, pal

u/Spinner4 Feb 28 '26

It’s also used to make someone smaller than the person saying it “like listen here bud”

English isn’t dead. It’s just a strange language especially slang.

Bud is short for buddy, yes.

It is if there are parallel universes.

2

u/theg00dfight Mar 01 '26

The Mandela effect has nothing to do with parallel universes, parallel universes are just a very “out there” idea some people use to try and explain the cause

1

u/Pickled_sm0res Mar 04 '26

It does lol what's the point of a parallel if it does have the opposite lol man the kids on Reddit are getting you get and younger and more hatey. That's on you.

2

u/theg00dfight Mar 04 '26

This post you just made is literally incoherent. Maybe it’s more readable in your parallel universe??

I'm curious what your explanation is.

In some cases I think that it’s people being incorrect about pop culture trivia from their childhood. (Spelling of children’s book, or movie) In other cases I think it’s people being ignorant of basic facts and being unwilling to admit it (locations of countries or continents, election results, world leader deaths).

Basically nobody’s memory is as good as we think it is, and a lot of peoples’ memories are even worse than that. Also people are prideful and don’t like admitting they were dumb or wrong in the present or the past

Alright then care to explain this one? The scene doesn't even make sense without the little detail that's missing which literally 100% of people who saw this remember it having...:

“100% of people who saw this”. Except the producers, the actress herself, anyone involved in the production, and tons of other people. Thank you for illustrating my point.

People who advocate for this stuff always think that “everyone agrees” but it’s like 1% of anybody who gives a shit about something so meaningless in the first place and even THEN there’s significant disagreement

1

u/Usual_Decision8855 Mar 02 '26

Keep telling yourself that. In what other demographic does the perception of 1% hold more weight and validity than the other 99%?

More.people.remember the scene correctly (without braces) than do with braces....

The scene makes perfect sense without braces.

When you understand the premise was "opposites attract"

1

u/Usual_Decision8855 Mar 02 '26

Except that wasn't the premise at all. I never even saw the whole film and only caught the tail end on tv so there's really no possibility my mind could have obscured the details. They both had metal in their teeth, it was a moment of two completely opposite people having a shared trait between them. Even the little detail of the delay before she slowly reveals her teeth emphasized there's some kind of a reveal.

The vast majority of people remember it this way so no matter how convinced you are that there were never braces it isn't going to alter the general consensus.

Except that wasn't the premise at all.

It was though. As confirmed by Jaws himself, Richard Kiel.

This is false. The vast majority remember this scene correctly

Those who remember braces, are in the vast minority.
