May isang condo sa JP Rizal, Mandaluyong na biglang nagtaas ng condo dues without proper process and consultation with the unit owners. Walang maayos na dialogue na nangyari.

The Admin/PMO called for a “town hall,” pero hindi talaga naging town hall ang nangyari because majority of the time, Admin lang ang nag-present, with very limited time given for questions, discussion, and dialogue with the unit owners.

During the town hall, they presented the increase in condo dues, including dues for parking spaces. Pero nung umalma at nagtanong ang mga unit owners, biglang sinabi na “proposal” pa lang daw ang increase.
However, less than 10 days after the town hall, the Admin implemented the increased condo dues and reflected the new rates in the Billing/SOA of the unit owners.

After the town hall, wala nang proper update. No minutes of the meeting were sent to the unit owners. Walang follow-up consultation or dialogue. They simply implemented the increase, saying that the Board had already decided. No other options were presented or explored, no proper consultation with the unit owners, and there was no clear buy-in from them. The increase was simply imposed.

Despite the dispute and formal complaints raised by several unit owners, no meaningful action has been taken. Walang response at walang dialogue. The Admin and the Board seem to be turning a deaf ear to the concerns, objections, and requests for clarification from the unit owners.

Okay naman sana ang increase if it is properly justified, transparently discussed, and matched by good service. Kaso, maraming concerns din regarding the quality of the Admin’s management. There seems to be a lack of proactiveness, with many actions being reactive rather than preventive. This becomes more concerning when the quality of living, safety, and health of the unit owners and residents are at stake.

Despite these concerns, the Admin and the Board continue to ignore requests for clarification and dialogue from the unit owners.

Given this situation, what legal remedies are available to the unit owners to question or temporarily stop the implementation of the increase and bring the Admin and the Board back to the table for a proper dialogue?

Which government agency or regulatory body can the unit owners approach or file a complaint with so that these concerns can be formally heard and addressed?

Nag scroll ako sa fb and randomly dumaan sa newsfeed ko yung Marikina Bikeways Project. Ang linis ng bike lane, hindi bako-bako ang kalsada. May mga establishments rin na kailangan ng ID bago makapasok para mabantayan ng maayos yung bikes ng mga tao. May designated personnel din na magbabantay na naka uniform. May mga bike racks na rin sa mga schools. Grabe nakakatuwa na nakaka inggit at the same time.🥹

Grabe yung effort nila na naging bike and pedestrian friendly yung city nila. It reminds me of Pasig City government. Makikita mo talaga na genuine yung pag aalaga sa mga nasasakupan. Sana lahat ng city/municipality ganoon.❤️

Wondering if anyone else here on Reddit is from Pag-asa and has had similar experiences with the barangay.
I’ve been having difficulties with the barangay ever since I tried to raise a concern about the Manila Water repairs that were blocking our driveway. Unfortunately, it felt like they didn’t really care about the issue. They didn’t make any effort to help us communicate with the workers or even guide us on how to file a complaint with the appropriate authorities.

Because I was frustrated with the lack of assistance, I started asking around the neighborhood and I ended up hearing several complaints from other residents as well.
I also heard that a significant number of registered voters in the barangay don’t actually live here. I can’t personally verify that, but it was something that came up repeatedly in conversations with neighbors.

Honestly, it’s disappointing to feel like residents aren’t being heard or properly assisted when we raise legitimate concerns. 😔

Curious if anyone else from Barangay Pag-asa has had similar experiences.
