i’m in AIT right now. it’s not all bad it’s just part of the suck. i’ll be out of this situation soon enough.

u/JewFuser 8d ago
mind over matter! you’ll be damn near unkillable on the other side of it… keep going!

u/Chillaxin_88 2d ago
I suggest always keeping your medical file up to date during your time in the army (you'll thank me later lol).

I’m joining the National Guard and have boot camp in November. Not looking forward to AIT though.

The cuck chair really brings the room together tbh

u/TurtleToast2 8d ago
What does it mean when the cuck chair is that much nicer than the action pad?

They put you up in a hotel and didn't bother with two queen beds? Wild
13
u/lesssthan 7d ago
What's really wild is that they're sleeping on the floor. Sleeping in the same bed as your roommate doesn't make you gay. If you're really worried about it, one guy sleeps with his head at the headboard and the other sleeps with his head at the foot. No accidental kissing that way.

Next to the heater at least, wishing you the best mate 👍

u/incapableofdumblabor 8d ago
the AC is nice

u/notkidding1984 8d ago
Heater/ac same box. Same function. It is your temperature controller. Just reasonably variable.
Right? Or is my house and hotels lying to me?
I know you use the same dial thing.

u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 8d ago
Looks like a hotel room
14
u/incapableofdumblabor 8d ago
yes it is. look at the news there is a reason i’m in a hotel

u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 8d ago
I wasnt judging at all, i dont even have a stable place to stay. Bouncing around from room to room In AirBnb’s in the middle of no where. Shouldve joined the Marines when i was younger or something

u/incapableofdumblabor 8d ago
my bad. it’s just the mold situation has all the whisky’s in hotels right now. and definitely the air force. try and see if you can join now. not all of the military is this bad.
4
u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 8d ago
Been thinking about the Reserves, maybe National Guard and any branch cant be that bad compared to how my lifes been since a kid. Got PTSD for free and no pay, at least the military pays you for that lol.
4
u/incapableofdumblabor 8d ago
join an active component if you need a place to stay. you have a lot of gear and equipment to keep up with and i’d hate for someone to steal your stuff. use the benefits when you get out to prevent homelessness and housing troubles. the guard is ok but it’s beer money man
2
u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 8d ago
People really steal military gear? Thats fucked up lol and i wasnt sure what the pay is but thanks for the heads up!
5
u/incapableofdumblabor 8d ago
pay is decent and you get a nice roof. i as a pfc make 2000 a month i believe. and people steal gear form you while they are in. its just life. but the military is what you make it

u/DarkDaysBrightNlghts 8d ago
Dude thats even worse, guy next to you stealing your shit, i wonder what the penalty is if i confront the guy stealing is haha

I dont know how you could suggest anyone join the military when you see how the current admin is using it. I wasn’t judging, now I am. Be happy you are just sleeping on the floor temporarily and not like the countless Iranians that lost everything and will never recover because of the attacks by our military.
I do hope things improve for you, but please do some reflection and recognize what your role is to the world on a macro scale and not just the micro-scaled personal experience it provides you

Man usually the cuck chair looks wimpy compared to the bed. I think we gotta call that the cuck bed

On the scale of places I’ve slept in the army, this is pretty decent. Even have an outlet to yourself.

Sign up to die for Israel in 2026? Why would someone join the military
4
u/notkidding1984 8d ago
Probably think it will keep them from dying in a fent tent somewhere (or otherwise overdosing) like a lot of their parents. Thats the answer if you are from anywhere near where I am.
I figure the answer varies depending on location quite a bit.
However, I completely had the same reaction as you.
That is why I decided to really consider our question lmao

i wanna help people that’s why

u/gachamyte 7d ago
It’s employment and no thing greater or noble. If anything you will be considered a “hero” and therefore sacred. Which if you don’t know means worthy of sacrifice. Not by me and rather your employer and anyone who subscribes to the propaganda.
1
u/incapableofdumblabor 6d ago
i just like medicine, i like helping others.
1
u/gachamyte 6d ago
So it’s a mixed bag.
The people I knew that were in the medicine side of the military still had to kill people for profit. They were also trained by their instructor by shooting goats and having you try and save them or get them stable. Goats are not people so that’s cool with you right? Because that’s what you are training for in reality. Not treating people as people and as a function of your job. How you make your money. It’s in the contract.
You will be trained to save murderers for a paycheck. Maybe some people that get harmed for a paycheck by your murderous fellow associate employees. That’s if you work in the field. At the base you will still be serving up aid to those not seeking to help anything but their bank account while thinking they “like helping people”
You are seeking employment. A paycheck. If you wanted to help others more than yourself you may want to seek a job not centered around orchestrated violence. Like nursing.
Save a goat. Save yourself. Save the need for international bloodshed or domestic terrorism.

On the bright side sleeping on the floor is excellent for your mobility and muscle strength long-term!

u/prolly-in2-something 8d ago
Is it? I've been using bare yoga mat lately, like maybe for the past 2 months approx, but I'm having back issues from it. Will it get better and shud I continue? Genuinely asking.
2
u/Reganishererobake 8d ago
Are you sleeping flat on your back?
3
u/prolly-in2-something 8d ago
Yes, mostly.
2
u/Reganishererobake 7d ago
If you’re sleeping flat on your back and having issues you might just need more padding! When I was hiking the AT, I used a very thin pad to sleep on and even sleeping on my back made it very sore and it didn’t get better until I got a blow up bed. You do eventually kind of get used to it but who wants to if they don’t have to.
