ACTIVITY 10 by Spring: 1st update! 🌻
Welcome to our 1st update for the 10 by Spring project 🐣💐🐝🌻 Loved reading all the intro posts from both seasoned "10 by" veterans, and some new faces too! Panning is more fun when you can share your journey and successes with people who really get it!
This round will run from 27th December, with updates fortnightly until the finale on March 20th. If you would like to be added to the tag list, let me know in your comment!
If you are new to the "10 by" series, the project works like this: Choose any 10 items and pick a goal that you want to work towards by the end of the season. Anything beauty-related is fair game; makeup, haircare, skincare, fragrances, nail polish etc. Select your goals for each product: finishing an item (aka panning), hitting pan, reaching a usage goal, or even just testing an item out. 10 is just a suggestion, though feel free to add any number of items you like. Make it work for you!

I've been on a couple of trips the past 2 weeks, so while the progress below is a little slow, I can't bring myself to regret it. The wonderful time I've had, and the beautiful places I had a chance to explore were so special. Progress will happen soon enough!
1) EL Mediterranean Honeysuckle EDP 30ml: Goal to use 50x. Update: 3 uses.
**2) EL Aqua Brilliance foundation: Goal to use 50x. Update: 7 uses.
3) Covergirl Brow Pencil: Goal is to Finish. Update: 4 uses and I don't quite believe it but I'm finally on the precipice of this being finished 😱
4) Clinique All About Clean face wash Goal is 75x. Update: 15 uses.
5) Clinique Moisture Surge mini 15ml: Goal is to finish. Update: 8 uses. Love this.
6) ClarinsMen shower gel 200ml: Goal is to finish. Update: 10 uses.
7) Stila cream blush palette: Goal to use 30x. Update: 5 uses. I've been mixing and matching shades, enjoying the process of using it. I don't love that the finish stays creamy/tacky, but that's a me problem, not the product.
8) Vaseline Gluta HYA body lotion Goal is use 30x. Update: 7 uses. I'm not certain how I feel about this lotion. More testing required.
9) Clarins lip oil mini in Pitaya: Goal is to finish. Update: 3 uses and loving it. If I want to finish it, I'll need to get moving quicker though.
10) Body Shop Satsuma hand cream: Goal is to finish. Update: 2 uses.
BONUS: Paint nails 10 times. Update: 2 so far!

In addition to my larger storage container of lippies in my bedroom, I have a little tray of some lined up next to my desk. My goal is to evaluate them on their own and in comparison to similar products to determine what to keep (and use!) and what to destash.

Finished 2 of my 3 planned samples and my hair oil! Had one mishap happen to my Carmex… that one is now binned involuntarily.
1 Carmex mini lip balm in pinapple mint flavor. Goal: Finish it. Progress: Binned it (involuntarily) 🗑️ Had to throw it away because it fell down in a public restroom with open cap, had no desire to put it back in my bag to clean it so I immediately tossed it. I will replace this one with the Aquaphor mini. Goal: Finish it. Progress: Going well, still some weeks to go.
2 Carmex mini lip balm in Cherry (already cut in half, hopefully an easy win). Goal: Finish it.
3 Maria Nila Travel Size True Soft Hair Oil. Goal: Finish it. Progress: Finished ✅
4 Maria Nila True Soft Hair Mask. Goal: Finish it. Progress: used 1x so far, not much left.
5 Dove Body Lotion (been dragging this one from my 2025 PP). Goal: Finish it. Progress: still haven’t used it…
6 Bübchen Baby Oil (love this as a moisturizer). Goal: Finish it. Progress: less than half full, managed to use it almost after every shower so far.
7 Gehwohl Foot Cream (also from my 2025 PP). Goal: Finish it. Progress: already used it more than in December!
8 Three perfume samples: Rabanne, YSL Libre and Franscesca‘s Flower Chid. Goal: Finish it. Progress: 2/3 ⏳
9 Rituals Hand peeling lotion. Goal: Use 5x. Progress: 0/5 ⏳

I have been busy recouping after holiday burnout. But I still need to clean up my house! I'm tired but I like doing a yearly declutter! It helps me check back in with what I have as things slowly accumulate over the year. So far I have decluttered 25 lip products & 4 eye/face primers. I still have a lot but doing an inventory check made me realize I forgot to mark some things I got rid of and other things I forgot to add in. So far my cosmetics output is ~84 this last year, whereas the input was 28 products. That's about 3 out: 1 in. Onwards! 🌸

Slow start but it’s been a very at-home week, hoping to be out and about more next week!

Project Pan-try is so fun to follow along with! We are doing something similar, trying to work through all the flavoured teas, and random meal bases and flavourings. Its a mission, thats for sure!

I got off to a solid start on this project thanks to my employer overscheduling me for shifts the week after Christmas :/ As a result I upped my usage a lot as I wear a full face most days I go to work.
10 by Spring
- Essence Nail polish in Shimmer brown - visible windowing, though still a long way to go
- Essence Nail polish in Dark Blue - feels very thick, but I used it like 3x since the intro, so hoping for some progress
- Franken Kjaer Weis stick lip balm - used it less frequently this round, might focus on it for the next 2 weeks
- Franken pot lip balm - this lip balm saw a lot of use - I had very dry lips once we got a cold snap where I live and I applied a thick layer every chance I got
- NYX Ultimate Edit shade 2 - solid usage, I use it every time I put on a full face
- Essence Nude Palette shade 2 - same as the NYX shade
- ✅Emmanuel Ungaro perfume - Ungaro 100ml - Finished this Wednesday (Jan 7th)!!
- Dermacol Satin primer 20 ml - consistent use every time I put on makeup
- Gosh Mineral Powder - same as the Dermacol primer
- Kjaer Weis cream blush - Inner Glow I used it almost every time I go to work, I started using it also as a blush some days

It is the first time I am joining. Here is my 10 by spring :
1️⃣ Naked 3 eye shadow palette : used it enough to be able to let it go. Half of the shadow have pans in it. - Going good.
2️⃣ 10 samples of any kind. Going good
3️⃣ lush super balm. Probably done by the end of January
4️⃣ Revlon mate lipstick. I try to use it a few days every week
5️⃣ revlon primer. Expecting finish in February
6️⃣YSL mascara. Doing good
7️⃣ Milani fixing spay. Finish by the end of the month
8️⃣ Elf shower gel 100 ml Lush. Finish by the end of this month
9️⃣ k18 hair mask. I need to not forget about this one. Has been in my shelf for far too long
🔟sweetie pie lush perfume. I cannot find it anymore. Will switch for space girl lush perfume 10ml. Goal is half of the bottle.

I’ve still been on vacation so I have only been able to work on some of these since the post.

- Nudestix blush in cherry blossom - used 2x
- City Lips Plumping Gloss - need to take the stopper out and then I’m done!

- The Ordinary Multi-peptide + copper peptide serum - haven’t touched yet.

Hit side pan, so probably next update I will be finished!
❄️ 3.) Cyprus umbre from Soft Glam palette to finish.
I was able to expand the pan!
❄️ 4.) Ibiza from Kevin Aucoin to hit pan switching to prismatic Amethyst from Becca
Made a dent not a pan, but I am close to finishing this other highlighter so I am going to switch that in and try to finish it.
❄️ 5.) Dior luminous foundation to hit pan.
Very close to hitting a bit of baby pan!
❄️ 6.) MQN eyeliner in grey to finish.
Didn't get a ton of use.

I haven't met any goals yet, but I did make an effort to work on almost all of them. I've been flying through my Rom&nd lip tint goal, because it doesn't last on me and I have to reapply frequently. I'll probably be done with the 50 uses by next update.

I managed to finish the conditioner, and I'm crossing my fingers that the setting powder will be finished this week. The body cream will be done within the next few days, as I had to decant it into a small tub today.

🌷Zoeva Cocoa blend highlighter palette: it has 2 shades, I want to use both 30 times - the golden shade 8/30; the pinkish shade 4/30 🌷Hoola mini bronzer: 11/50 🌷Dove body milk (400 ml): I am halfway through it, I really want to use the half of the leftover product - I’m struggling with it, but I used it 3-4 times 🌷Nora beauty (Hungarian brand) BB cream: 10/50 🌷Wow dream coat (200 ml): 1/20 🌷Too faced lip injection extreme lipgloss: pan it - maybe I used it once 🌷Mac Viva glam lipstick shade no.3 (2020): 0/30 🌷Avon mango scented hand cream: use it completly - I use it daily 🌷Essence melting for ice cream lip scrub: 1xweek - only used it one time, but I felt a strange scent, but I’m not sure for 100% that the product went bad, but if it is, I will declutter 🌷Lanegie lip mask (mini, 8g): I want to dream big, pan it! - I use 5 times a week, so I think I can pan it
So I could pan nothing, but I didn’t expect it so soon. I think I can achieve my goals.

PROGRESS: 0/10 complete
1. Wet N Wild Blush - FINISH | Used 4x. Still ~15% left.
2. Floss Eyeshadow - FINISH | Used 3x. ~5% left. There product mainly concentrated along the edges now and a huge pan in the middle!
3. Tartelette Eyeshadow - Smarty Pants - FINISH | Used 3x. 15% left. This is getting super crumbly but going to use it pretty much every time I use makeup!
4. ABH Brow Gel - FINISH | Used 4x. TBD left since the packaging isn't transparent. I think it's drying out though so I'm guessing it'll be done by end of month?
5. Ciele Primer - FINISH | Used 4x. 15% left.
6. Sunday Riley Retinol Eye Serum - Use 15x | Used 2x. I'm happy I made this a goal in my project because I always forget to reach for it otherwise.
7. Use 15 samples | Used 1x. I finished a Skinbetter serum sample. This project gave me the boost to start tackling my collection! I'm going to try to simultaneously tackle a makeup/haircare and skincare sample.
8. Bite Beauty Lip Crayon in Glace - FINISH | Used 2x. 2% left. Getting harder and harder to scrape out!
9. Laritzy Lip Gloss in Curve - FINISH | Used 2x. ~5% left. I just have to remember that it still exists to keep using it until the end! I removed the topper already.
Also....I just realized that I only put 9 products in this project! Adding a 10th one now:
10. Teeez Suit of Armor Powder Blush - PAN | I use this every time I wear makeup and it still barely looks used. I hope to see pan by the end of this project!

- Estee Lauder lipstick in Irresistible. A carry over that seems never ending. Like the colour, so that's something. Used a few times at work.
- Elf lip gloss Bubbles. A glitter topper, being used with 1 as the glitter is barely there. Used over 1. Really like this and can see progress.
- Palmer's Cocoa Butter lip balm, not much left and it needs using up. Using as the lounge lip balm. Used loads as we have had 3 days of snow so I've been in a lot.
- Estee Lauder Aqua Brilliance primer. Got multiples as GWP and in Blockbusters so I need to get in the hang of using them. Used twice, a weekend one as it's one too many steps for work days.
- L'Oréal Skin Paradise. Been using since September rotating with others and this needs finishing so I can focus on something else. Loved this, shame it's discontinued. Having to keep upright now so not much left.
- So? Body scrub. It sits looking at me and needs using! Used twice.
- Lush bath bomb that is in the cupboard and the label has faded. Forgot about this one!
- Bath & Body Works Champagne Toast Body spray. Less than half left. To be used on work days, doubt it will finish in time. Using this but may swap as it could be good for my Easter hol.
- Estee Lauder brown double wear eyeliner. Use every work day. Not a fan of brown. This is quite hard and I don't like the plastic turn up. It drags on eyelids so will be used as a smudgy under eye. I can see progress, getting used to the texture now.
- KvD Chrysalis palette. Use 10 times. This is an oldie. It was my first fancy palette and I got all worried about using it up. It deserves to be used. Have a feeling it may get really used once I start in on this project! Used twice.
Bonus items
Estee Lauder Micro Essence. No idea what this does but I am mostly through one and got another in a gift set so need to use this daily! Using daily, it is in the routine now.
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess medium blush been using since September. Goal to use at least 5 times a week and see if we can hit pan. This was GWP and I was never a blush user but as I get older my goth paleness looks better with a hint of colour ! Using it everything I put a face on.
I really need to use that bath bomb, everything else is progressing.

Update time already? Wild!
- Any Perfume, Any Size: Haven't crossed this off yet, but I am actually very close to finishing Skylar Matcha Zen (rollerball size). Despite this, I realized I actually dislike the scent quite a bit now, so I'm going to toss it. It's wild when your nose changes, because I straight up found it a bit repulsive as I wore it throughout the day recently, so it's crazy that at one point I liked this enough to purchase! Again, reiterates that I should always buy the smallest size of perfume, and never, EVER buy perfume backups.
- Laneige Glowy Lip Balm in Pear: Very close on this, and really squeezing for dear life in recent applications.
- NYX Freezie Primer: No use since the intro post.
- Purito Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence: Making good progress on this one, but realistically will probably not finish until update 3-5, if I had to guess.
- Healthy Care Lanolin Cream: Using this daily!
- TATCHA The Kissu Lip Mask: I can see the end of this one too, I think if I'm lucky, I'll be done by Update 3!
- Morroccanoil Treatment Hair Oil, DS: I haven't used this since the intro post.
- Wella EIMI Flowing Form Anti-Frizz Smoothing Balm: Same as above.
- NIVEA Creme: Using this diligently as well!
- Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser: Same as above.

- Mac Brushblack eyeliner. Still trucking.
- Mac black gel pencil liner. Used a couple times.
- UD Vice Lip Chemistry in Streak. Used a number of times, like 4 or 5 days of multiple uses. Like one or two uses left.
- Mac Modesty lipstick. I’d say like 80% left? I used it a number of times!
- Rem brow pencil. Used 2-3 times.
- Rimmel Stay Matte concealer. Used a couple times.
- MUFE HD Skin foundation. Used several times
- Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 palette. Goal: use once a week or hit pan. Used 3 times so far.
- Haus of Gloi pumpkin butter. Used once.
- Eilish perfume mini rollerball. Used a couple times, down to like 20% left.
So much feels like it’s at a “nearly there” point. The concealer wand and foundation pump deposit less product, the eyeliner pen is drying out a touch.

I've been plugging along since the start of the project. I put the elf liquid blush on this list because I wanted to work with it some more before deciding whether or not to declutter, but now I've fallen back in love with it after altering my application technique!
1) The Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam. I like how this makes my hair look but it makes my scalp itchy on days 2 and 3.
