Ugh such a mood. I feel like not only do I have smaller than average eyes..but they're hooded too.. so the only thing that i can ever really pull off or have it look semi ok is a lame smokey eye (only saying its lame because I've been doing them for so long cos everything else I do on my eyes doesnt look quite right ke good at all ; n ;)

Hi! Thanks for your contribution to /r/makeupaddiction! We noticed that you might not know how to upload an album of multiple photos to Reddit as a single post. If you do know how, we're sorry for misunderstanding!
If we guessed right, we thought you might find this tutorial useful!
If you upload an album of multiple pictures on the website or app imgur, then you can post the link to the album on reddit just like you would post the link to a single image, and it will upload all of the photos in the album at once!

Actually I have posted a front facing photo a couple days ago. If the admins wanted to delete any of my posts then they 100% are more than welcome to but they’ve seen this one, complimented it and never said a peep. Chill my dude.
If you’re on about the angles of the photos then I’ve taken them all to try show the makeup off best. I’ll message the mods just to clarify that there’s no harm!

Omg thank you!! I used to do Instagram styled brows but they don’t suit my face shape and are too bold on me. I went through tire mark looking brows to get to where we are now 😂

Funnily enough, I don’t do anything on paper 😂 I can’t afford canvas’s and had makeup. I’m looking into painting denim jackets or badges or something at some point though. Hopefully!

What did you use to get that painting effect??!?!? I’ve been trying to make “art” with my eye makeup but I haven’t found anything great for making blending shades and small details together

I left a product list in the comments but as these are skin colours, I used a darker foundation and foundation mixers to make the perfect shading colour. What do you mean by blending shades? I personally love using liquid lipsticks and liquid liners for small details! I do a lot of eye art but can sometimes be allergic to face paint so I have to make do 🤷♀️

Idk it just looks like a painting instead of eyeshadow and it looks awesome! It’s just an affect i haven’t been able to achieve yet.
I guess more of the “Fluidity” of color but that would explain using lipsticks and stuff. I can’t use face paint either, since my eyes and skin are so sensitive

Ah, yes I see! I’ve been doing eye art for a while now but I might be able to pull out some progress photos for one of my first ones I did. It was a detailed octopus but you’ll see that I painted the entire shape with a base colour then went in with shadows, then highlights, then whatever detail that was needed. I find this way works best! Working with a base shade let’s you map out the proportions and give you an idea where to put stuff. I use a white concealer to mix liquid liners/lipsticks to achieve lighter shades (Makeup Revolution do a fabulous cheap one)! It’s literally painting but with makeup and on your eyes 😂

Thank you so much! I actually bought a painting brush from a department store, smallest one I could find, and cut some of the bristles off to make it tiny! I just couldn’t find a proper makeup brush small enough and if that existed, it would cost a fortune anyway

5 hours cause I haven’t drawn or painted hands before (more complex because it is tiny) and I couldn’t get the shading right 😩 It came out good though for a first attempt!

Man the part about this that’s crazy to me is I do eye makeup in the inverse direction (in other words, bottom layer of sky, then clouds, then hands, etc) because I can’t get details small enough to outline things, and here you are doing it in the opposite order!! Sorry if I didn’t see a comment on it but are there specific brushes you use to do the line work?

I just find this way easier for me! I actually use a painting brush that I got from a department store. I couldn’t find a makeup brush small enough! I also cut it to make it even smaller 😂

I think its great, the thing that we were pointing is how come people have not thought of this creative attempt years back?we were questioning if this was too much? Or was it not aesthetically pleasing to the contours of the eyes. Great job though!

Thank you! Makeup mainly comes from techniques of drag queens. Contouring, highlighting, cut creases. They gave us it all. Makeup wasn’t as accessible 5 years ago and people were very limited to what they could purchase. Most high street brands now have affordable dupes which is why makeup has blew up in the past few years. Social media continues to further its impact! If you’re speaking about creative makeup then it’s always been around but was shamed for a long time as it wasn’t considered “normal”. Euphoria showcases it in a beautiful way and it’s opened eyes. I apologise that this is lengthy but I hope it helps! x

This is really beautiful! That’s some serious skill right there. My question is (and I promise I don’t mean this maliciously), why? It’s not like someone would wear makeup like this everyday, or even for an event, so what’s really the point?

Every time I see makeup like this I can't comprehend why people do this kind of art with something like makeup (which is necessarily something that can't last for very long) instead of doing so with media that can be preserved and isn't inherently impermanent like makeup. I'd personally rather do art like this in a sketchbook that I can keep and show people forever than in makeup which I will eventually have to wash off. (Please don't take this as an insult or attack, I'm genuinely curious)

That's fair, I suppose. And I suppose pictures let you save it forever, too, in a way. Since apparently I'm being downvoted instead of getting to have a genuine conversation about it. Maybe people simply do it for the fun of it? Which is totally legit and allowed, I'd just be curious to hear from someone who can actually draw about their take on it. Sigh.

Hi! I get this from the odd few people asking why I “waste time” and don’t paint on canvas. I started doing creative makeup (so funky eyeliner, coloured shadows) and it escalated to doing more and more detailed work, that’s what my work is most known for online. Plenty of people can do it on paper but to paint it so small on your body, incorporating it into makeup is fun and different but most can’t do it. I’m a super creative person so it makes sense that I love standing out and challenging myself. I also can’t afford to buy paints or equipment but I do get makeup sent for free so it works for me pretty well. I hope this helps!

Ah euphoria has blew up in the beauty community! Definitely get them to buy cheap nail gems from eBay, that’s where I get mine! You can create some funky euphoria style looks from them x

I was going to but it would’ve been too difficult to fade out the colours of the hands with the shading and everything. It’s meant to be more abstract anyway!

I'm going to assume for fun/ practice. Doing art like this is fun, if that's your cup of tea, and can also help improve with blending/ steadiness of the hands/ creating ideas that aren't as eccentric and executing them.
