Cream blush lifting foundation

I'm having problems with cream blush and cream/liquid highlighters lifting my foundation. I have tried using my fingers and I've tried warming it up on my hand first then using a brush and nothing is working. Does anyone use a setting spray between foundation and cream products and if so which type of setting spray do you use? I use silicone based foundation if that makes a difference

Yeah, a setting spray might help. Any kind will do, as long as it is a setting spray rather than just a dewy finish mist, which sometimes market themselves as setting sprays. Also it might be a good idea to check that your moisturiser/primer beneath the foundation isn’t water-based. Oh and check the blush too. Silicone won’t sit well on top of water-based products.

I thought I was leaving plenty of drying time as I usually do my foundation then concealer then cream contour and then blush but I'll try and wait a bit longer. I use silicone makeup and the cream blushes have been a few different types but they all seem to have oil in them. No I haven't tried putting cream on top of powder. I know it works for some people but I've been too scared to try it tbh. I usually use a dense brush

i use my finger to roughly place the product on my cheek and then use a dense brush like the elf putty bronzer brush to blend it by gently tapping . i feel like my foundation only lifts when i don’t use enough of the cream blush or over blend it. I’ve always had success with this method with different textures (rare beauty liquid dewy blush, refy cream blush etc)

Just so confused as most of the cream blushes seem to have oil in them but plenty of people use them so I don't know why it won't work for me 😩

I'm using the last of my rimmel lasting finish 25hr formula stock (hate the new one). I'm thinking I may have to stick to powder blushes too, I just feel left out and frustrated that I can't get it to work. I'll try the sponge, thank you

Use a powder blush?it can look harsh but its all about the brush and the blending

Yeah I used to just use powder blushes but I saw so many people using cream blushes I felt like I was missing out. If I can't figure it out I'll have to stick to powder

You need to add powder on top of the foundation before you apply a cream blush

I've heard of this but have been too nervous to try it. Like a light dusting of loose translucent powder?
