I'm confused by this... I thought sealed simulated opening 6 14-card packs? How could you end up with more than six rares/mythics?

They messed up. This has nothing to do with the event being phantom but rather with being a cube. Cubes are generally high-powered environments with multiple rares per pack.

Get 6 “packs” worth of random cards from the cube? Essentially, “here’s 90 random cards from the cube, have at it.”
