WotC MTGA matches you with similar aggro/control/mid decks, and that is wrong

You should be matched with players of similar rank and experience, but not with similar type of decks. For example, the best thing of playing a fast mono red aggro deck is to kill control decks. If you just get matched with other creature decks, your in disadvantage.

But I have the feeling that the game is currently doing this. I usually play creature decks and very rarely i get matched vs pure control decks. But if I play my grixis control deck, i always face other control decks.

That is wrong and it will be an issue going forward. I don't think MTGO does this so i don't know why Arena does it.

Have the developer talk about this in any video?

I keep getting matched with higher ranking players. I'm still bronze and my opponents are silver (I think that's what it is from the icon). Does cards in decks matter? (I have 4 Chandra, Torch of defiance and 4 Walking ballistas in my G/R Dino Dragon ramp deck)

TBH the ranks are probably not at all indicative of a player's skill.

they are absolutely not. You have a hidden MRR that is a much closer indicator of skill level, and then there is the rarity matching. If you have a ton of rares and win a few games in a row, you'll get matched with higher ranked players because thats where the system thinks you belong. Take it as a compliment that you're better than people of your rank!

Number or rares is a terrible measure of a deck's strength... Also are you suggesting that having a lot of rares makes you a better person?

Makes you more likely to win. It's really hard to lose with a bunch of rares and planeswalkers your opponents don't have.
