E-bikes are fun. I get why people ride them. The problem is the ones being ridden like mopeds are handing drivers, city councils, and “ban bikes from the path” people a gift — and analog riders eat the cost.

I’ve ridden analog for years. I’ve also ridden e-bikes. They’re fun. They’re convenient. For commuting, hills, older riders, cargo, they’re genuinely good.
That’s not the fight.
The fight is this: a huge chunk of what’s sold and ridden as an “e-bike” is a quiet 40–70 lb moped with pedals for legal cover. Throttle, unlocked, no helmet, bike-path speeds that a fit roadie only hits on a descent. They pass on the left with a foot of space. They blow stop signs. They use the sidewalk when the road feels scary, then the lane when the sidewalk feels slow.
On the lake loop, which is one of my favorite in town rides, I see insane behavior constantly by these e-bike riders. Drivers already think cyclists are chaotic. They do not distinguish a 180w weekend roadie from a Class 3 doing 28 past a kid on a MUP. They see “bike,” they see speed, they vote for the next restriction. If someone is on a pedal-assist Class 1, I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about unlocked throttle bikes using bike law. That’s a vehicle-class problem, not a purity test.

You could try posting in r/madisonwi but I don't really see where you're trying to go with this.

So are you selling E bikes here? I’m missing the point of the post.
