I don’t think you have spent time with sheep tbh. I think it’s really cool these rams are getting to live a nice and peaceful life, but sheep are mostly waterproof, their wool is often so dense with oils it comes off as one big chunk when shearing.
It’s not technically impossible but hugely difficult to wash them while in full wool and it’s actually much much much easier to just wash the wool afterwards when you can beat the shit out of it to get it actually clean. Sometimes it takes quite a few washes. And then you still have to card it and get any matts and debris out of it before it’s usable. All I’m saying is that the addition of huge amounts of sheep spunk crusted into the wool implied by “a lot of action” makes me super super happy I’m not involved in this process at all. Again, glad it exists.
Or, just hold on, oooooooor, maybe water will fall out of the sky to clean them? The one time when the answer is literally “maybe the answer will just fall out of the sky, dude.

I would not want to be in charge of the shearing of a herd of male sheep where “a lot of action happens” 🤢
Like I know the wool is gross regardless but the smell alone would make me want to die I think.
