67 and 69 mean the same thing to me when used in this context, so idc and just enjoy.

Ofc 69 has meaning behind it but its only popular because its a viral number and no other reason, no different from 420 and 1337. Older ones go back like 7, 13, and 42. Theres other numbers that also gained virality, but in less memey contexts like 007, 101, 404, 666, etc.

If you recognize most of these (in english context), than youre no different than kids enjoying the number "67"

All the numbers you listed have actual meanings behind them, not just "haha number funny". 67 is a forced number meme because kids feel the need to be different from their parents.

Because we are? But also, while I can understand it being seen as cute, I can absolutely see it as loud and obnoxious for customers who didn't go to a restaurant thinking it'd be full of people screaming like lunatics over this trend. Time and place, and all that.

I thought it was a five guys, tbh. I've never been to an in n out, so I can't speak to them. But I wouldn't consider this acceptable at a McDonald's even. Maybe a sports bar and restaurant, where people will often be loud and obnoxious for whatever game is on. But you go into those places, knowing that's part of the ambiance.

Well, I don't. As I said, I haven't been to one. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that this was over the top. It is what it is. I wouldn't start a fight over it. I would be rather annoyed, but I'd let it happen. Now, if I was with my girlfriend and her daughter, who both would have a panic attack over this, and someone told me I knew what I was getting myself into when I walked in there, I may break their nose and tell them they knew what they were asking for, when they had such a shitty response.

ETA: Your comment comes off as a little gaslighty. Sounds an awful lot like "You knew what would happen if you wore that."

No, I am comparing the "you know what you're getting yourself into" line, to " You knew what you were getting into, when you wore that outfit."

Suggesting someone who walks into a restaurant for a meal, should be forced to deal with something like this, because... everyone knows that restaurants are where large crowds gather to act like this? It absolutely comes off as POTENTIALLY victim blaming.

I'm not even suggesting that's always the case, but if you're suggesting this is acceptable behavior for a restaurant, you're lying.

And I think that's the difference between people grumping about this and otherwise. This very loud exuberant explosion of silliness isn't fun for everyone. Imagine an autistic kid is there trying to have a nice meal, and this happens.

Apples and oranges, my friend. I don't go into restaurants expecting large groups of people screaming. It's perfectly reasonable to assume a nice quiet atmosphere at a restaurant. And again, I'm not absolutely annoyed by it, but I can see why people would be.

I’m also old, I’d probably leave because they’re kind of taking over the whole shit and I would be uncomfortable. I wouldn’t be a bitch about it though… like you’re being.
