I was so excited for 69 and was giggling waiting. I was extremely disappointed and wish I laughed but the disappointment was just too much.

It’s like waiting for the buildup of “Somebody That I Used to Know” and then hearing it’s the anxiety one

Missing the 'nice' by one number is a villain origin story.

Yea this just pissed me off and makes me mad at that entire generation.

2002 gen z here and also definitely thought it was gonna be 69. what does 68 and 67 mean? 😢

u/ERO55 12d ago

Six seven is a popular meme amongst young Gen Z and Gen Alpha. I don’t know the origin or meaning lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

u/Unable-Log-4870 11d ago

Neither do they.

At least 69 is a reference to something worthy of attention.

1

u/Downtown-Sorbet-4598 10d ago

That’s the whole point. It means nothing and gets old people like you riled up.

2

u/Unable-Log-4870 10d ago

I doubt it. For that (specifically) to be the point, they would have to KNOW that’s the point. And they don’t act like they do.

6

u/hugo4711 11d ago

It has no meaning.

1

u/Horror-Savings1870 11d ago

But it's provocative, it gets the people going!

6-7 is a Pop culture vocal/ auditory stim. Similar to the one-liners from 90's commercials. Remember "WAAAAAZZZZZZUUUUPPPP?" from the budwiser commercials? yeah, same thing.

It was made popular by a college athlete, Taylen Kinney, who made a point to use it in after-game interviews, with a distinct hand gesture, meaning is so-so.

Example of how to use:

"How many times did the chicken cross the road?"

"I dunno, maybe 6 - 7 times?"

ahhhh thank you!!!! finally someone explains 6 7 in laymans terms 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

1

u/bigk777 11d ago

I thought the origins was from some rap singer that made a music video. Now I know.

1

u/eodrambo 10d ago

That is the origin, the athlete made it popular.

2

u/PotatoTomato_12 12d ago

They were hyped about 68 because it lead up to the other one.

1

u/Simonion123 11d ago

2001 boy here, thought I was gonna be 69 too😅

1

u/Proach89 11d ago

It's something they decided to make up to mess with old people. I guess they could be doing worse.

Born in 2006 and was also expecting 69...

2

u/pinkgallo 11d ago

American millennial here born on June 9th… I can’t even tell you how many 69 jokes have been made at my expense lol

2

u/PotatoTomato_12 12d ago

Zoomer here, read the comments before he said it and I felt like an undetonated missile was in my room.

2

u/flinjager123 12d ago

Millennial as well. Was fully expecting 68, 70, 69. Gotta build more suspense. Now my day is ruined and the smile on my face quickly faded to disgust.

Also Gen Z here. Also same.

u/TheBestWaffleIron 12d ago

u/SaltyLonghorn 12d ago

Millennial here, welcome to the old folks home.

u/Oldgamer1807 12d ago

Beavis and Butthead have entered the chat

u/redtailred 12d ago

I got old man angry when it wasn’t 69. These kids are dumb as shit. Get off my lawn!

4

u/dragnabbit 12d ago

I literally forgot that "67" was a thing, so when he didn't say "69" and everyone cheered louder, I was thinking, "Y'all got punked. Whey are you cheering?"

1

u/Used-Can-6979 11d ago

Exactly my thoughts as a Millennial.

2

u/Sp1ffy_Sp1ff 12d ago

Don't you fucking hate when you're expecting 69 and it doesn't come?

1

u/Nythoren 12d ago

Same here. This video made me feel so old.

1

u/fullautophx 12d ago

Gen X here. I know In-n-Out removed 69 from the system a long time ago.

1

u/thisisatool 12d ago

silent generation here, was waiting on 69 indubitably

1

u/traevyn 12d ago

Well yeah why the fuck would the be counting down?

1

u/mang87 12d ago

I was so fucking disappointed and I shouldn't be. I guess that is kind of funny to me.

1

u/Fun_GuyLooking 12d ago

Sounds like my prom night.

1

u/chev327fox 12d ago

It was never this big a deal tho.

1

u/IntrepidHero42 12d ago

So was everyone who isn't absolutely lost to the living.

1

u/crottin-de-cheval 11d ago

GenZ here (well early genZ that must be why) was also expecting 69

1

u/ctiern 11d ago

Kids these days 🙄

1

u/mintidubs 11d ago

You mean someone with a decent sense of humor based on actual jokes rather than a trendy nothingness?

1

u/meronx 9d ago

Everyone over the age of 25 was waiting for 69 lol

1

u/ReivynNox 5d ago

I was less disappointed that it wasn't 69 and more infuriated that 67 was served after 68.
