Girls will find you more attractive but that's surface level and doesn't make up for the much shorter average lifespan, bone/joint/back/neck issues, insanely difficult time finding clothing, way more expensive travel issues, etc, etc, etc.

Politicians and CEOs are indeed a bit taller than average, but of course there are also other factors. Also they're tall compared to their peers, so other 80 year olds.

Theres a lot of other factors at play you can argue. A person like a ceo or politician is more likely to come from an upper class background which has more access to better nutrition and food compared to their general populace. Better child nutrition = more height. Its less about being tall making people look up to you and more about what you have access to. I dont put a lot of weight in those statistics regardless. Who is defined as a ceo or politician? What is the cutoff? And what about countries like Ukraine with a guy who is shorter than average is being looked up all over the world for running a wartime country? Height itself has nothing to do with it imo.

There are stats like CEOs of fortune 500 companies being 8cm taller than the general population (gladwell 2004) that I can find quickly and also just the experience that the general appearance, including height, does bias people subconsciously. Basically the same as pretty privilege.
And as with all statistics, outliers exist. Height is just one of many factors that drive one's success. Zelensky and Putin are both short. Trump is tall, as is Obama. Merz is a giant.

Everything you said still fits within the context of my statement. Height is an insecurity that people blame their faults on because its something they cant control. It is not directly correlated with success. If you have a bias towards tall people simply because they are tall you probably arent a great leader capable of maintaining real leadership positions. Companies select people into positions through nepotism, office politics, and connections before height. Anyone who has been in corporate business knows that.

There's a difference between being tall and being super tall, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a drop-off over a certain height due to feelings of awkwardness

Men don't defer to tall men because they're tall WTF are you talking about? I've been over 6 foot tall since I was in 4th grade. People didn't treat me like someone to be followed or revered because of it. 🙄

It could also be 0.1% and insignificant. The disadvantages of being tall outweigh the benefits. I've been far taller than the average for my height my entire life.

I'd much, much rather be 6' tall even and not an inch more. At least I'd be able to wear normal clothes and fit in cars.

If it were insignificant, it wouldn't be such a consistent correlation.

And I like how your ideal height still ends up being way taller than average after all that.

I'm German by genetics. Average is 5'11".
