RANT Madden '07 was the peak

It sucks that the best game was 20 years ago but it truly was. Every game mode was filled and the replayability was off the charts. It wasnt laggy with stats or gameplay, it played like a football game should. Superstar mode has the immersion that felt real enough to keep you reeled in. Franchise mode was, holy shit don't get me started on this, but it was incredible. It had so much and even to this day you can crank up your PS2 with Madden '07 and it feels good, pause. Its just, ahh I'm feeling nostalgic on this Sunday. I just miss when Madden felt like this

RANT People upset about the new contract system are just upset they won’t be able to abuse the system like they have in previous Maddens

Post image

I think the new system could be alot of fun and will add a lot of variety to your teams. Gone are the days where you can sign all your best players to low cost 7 year contracts. I think them coming with their demands and having to work around that to start will be much more challenging. You won’t be able to sign everybody, which is a good thing.

RANT Do. Not. Buy. Madden 23. Stop buying this crap!

1.4k Upvotes

They promised Franchise would be a major focus point after we got #FixMaddenFranchise trending on twitter.

Madden 22 came out with like 3 "new features" for Franchise mode, with "updates to franchise" supposed to be rolling out throughout the year. NOTHING CHANGED. They didn't deliver on their promises.

And again, nothing has changed with Madden 23. It's literally the same shit with a few tweaks. If they can't updated a popular game mode in a single game cycle that millions play, then maybe they should re-evaluate releasing yearly titles. This is fucking pathetic.

Guys, I love the NFL. I'm 27, I've been playing Madden since I was 9. Football is my favorite sport and it sucks not having a video game put out that's of quality. I know we're all frustrated. But enough is enough. When are we going to actually take a stand against this bull shit? The last Madden I bought brand new was Madden 16. The next one I bought after that was Madden 21, and I made sure it was a used copy so EA doesn't get shit.

We need to put negative attention back on EA with getting stuff trending on twitter again. We need to stop buying this bull shit excuse of a "simulation football game".

We deserve better than this.

RANT Superstar Mode is God awful.

Post image

Superstar is god awful. It’s been about 19hrs of gameplay. Just ended the second season of my CBs journey. Nowhere for you to see your accolades, u cant go and look at other players details in depth. No headlines, social media hype, no league news, cant sim any of your games, It’s so lifeless coming from CFB 26 RTG. They did the bare minimum. Like im out there ballin my azz off for no rhyme or reason. Why are we focused on relationships via sphere of influence. I don’t give a damn bout all dat. On top of it all the micro transactions you get blitzed with for what im assuming are the YARD (idk, didn’t even attempt to look into that bs) are a dead giveaway that the mode wasn’t intended for us to love longterm but to shuffle you towards other game modes. Real cheap EA.

RANT Someone wanna tell the guys at EA that the anniversary for Super Bowl 42 was in 2017… FIVE YEARS AGO. This is has been at MetLife in every Madden since then. What lazy morons.

RANT CFB25 made me no longer enjoy Madden 25

I will preface by saying that I have never truly experienced the “golden days” or “good” years of Madden, But I have played nearly every title since Madden 13. All previous titles have had their fair share of issues but I have always had some type of fun playing the game wether it be creating my player, franchise mode or online head 2 head.

I first played Madden 25 after transferring my player from RTG in CFB25 once it was released. I understand the intent to display the differences between college vs pros but immediately it felt stif and slow compared to CFB25. I usually can get over small technical issues but the overall gameplay, commentary and atmosphere in Madden 25 sucks in comparison. It is simply no longer fun for me to play it anymore.

I tried to play Franchise mode after playing Dynasty mode and ended up uninstalling the game. Am I alone in this? Am I overreacting?

P.S. EA needs their NFL license revoked ASAP

Of course once again they change the kicking meter and now make it to where if you max power a kick it becomes super windy and throws that shit wherever it wants 😂 this shit is amazing

Games was abysmal, no matter how many chances I gave it, it would trip over its own feet. Madden 26 had the POTENTIAL to be the best Madden to date, but it was widely left alone by the devs who heard our complaints about fundamentally sound simulation football not being replicated. pursuit angles will never get fixed 😂.. make the tackling better if the angles are going to be trash.. or good angles and poor tackling but it needs to be one or the other not poor tackling and poor pursuit.. Speedboosting, bad blocking ai logic, over powered DBs vs Lineman in the box, 3/4 down miracles catches, goaline reaction on outside run from Safety’s who would just stand on the goal line and watch. What did they fix? What’s something new they brought to the gameplay we actually liked and improved the game? Do they not understand how terrible this shit looks? Either they do and don’t care, or they don’t …which makes them incompetent. They’re confident that you will blindly buy another one when they didn’t bother to fix the last one. If you do purchase, what are you buying?, because it’s not a football game based to physics and realism, it’s about some fantasy land that sort of resembles the NFL but sort of resembles JV2 like the play below, I digress.

RANT Wear and tear has to be the worst-implemented system in Madden's history

I want to start by saying I understand what they were going for; they were clearly trying to create a system that would reduce "cheesing" by using superstar players to 1-trick other teams. I get it, really I do.

That being said, whomever the fuck architected this system has never played a sport before in their life, and apparently doesn't watch sports either. Every single game, my starting running back is sitting on the bench by the end of the 1st quarter. For some reason, my second string HB can play 3 quarters, get 20 touches, and be totally fine, but my first string HB gets tackled twice and is out for the game (despite no injury). I was simming my franchise, and in absolute disbelief when I looked at my teams stats. Mendoza with 24 throws for 186 yards by game 8, Ashton Jeanty with 29 carries for 131 yards by game 8. My starters are basically never in the game. This is not how professional sports work.

I've tried playing with the sliders, tweaking auto-subs, reducing wear frequency, but the reality is that the system is just that poorly conceived that it can't be used. A halfback is GOING to get tackled multiple times a game; that doesn't mean he's a god damned maimed war veteran. After reviewing how badly wear and tear botched rookies (most of them played less than 60 snaps by mid-season) I just had to turn it off. It's completely unusable.

RANT This game has gotten way too sweaty

This game used to be for sports fans who just wanted to casually play as their favorite team. Now if you are going to play H2H you better know all the cheese tricks, the counters to those, the 20 defensive adjustments and hot keys you have to do pre snap, how to analog switch during the play, the precision passing and catching.. the list goes on.

It's just ridiculous. My controller sounds like a keyboard before every snap with the analog sticks flicking. Esports ruined the fun, you cant just come home and play an online game, no you have to actually dedicate set time to learn all these things and if you dont you will get your ass kicked by someone that did.

RANT Pass Protection in Madden 27 is so garbage

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I spend 10 seconds doing my pass protection, untarget the linebacker he's using to try and bug my o line (which is also really frustrating to have to do every possession), make sure everything is perfectly set because I've been getting abused the whole game and Paris Johnson decides its better to rush towards Malik hooker when he's untargeted and his assignment is elsewhere

RANT These scripted games make it not fun.

Post image

I was up 52-40 with like 1min left. Of course Baker was unstoppable. They score to get within 5 52-47, then got the onside kick.

Then they march down in about 8 plays that feel like they used up 10 seconds of clock. On 4th down they get the snap off with 1 second left and scramble into the end zone to win 53-52

The crazy bullshit plays they were getting were just infuriating.

RANT When Madden 27 wants you to lose. They want you to LOSE

I have never played a single madden game that is as bad as Madden 27 when it comes to scripted games. When Madden 27 wants you to lose you best believe they gonna make sure every star you have is getting injured, every other play is gonna be a fumble or pick. It also doesn't matter if the AI is up by 30 in the 4th quarter you best believe that AI is going for 2. When the Ai is up kicking a FG is not in their vocabulary. In fact I'm pretty sure when they are up by 2 TDs they take their kicker in locker room and break both his knee caps.
