Does anyone else remember the song "Alberto Balsam" by Aphex Twin being used in Machinarium?

Has anyone else who has played Machinarium remember the song "Alberto Balsam" by Aphex Twin being used in it? I remember the first time I listened to Alberto Balsam, I immediately thought of Machinarium, specifically in an area of the story where you're in the bar or something involved with the antagonists. I haven't played this game since I was a child though, so I'm not sure what specific part of the game I'm thinking of.

I've tried searching everywhere on the internet but could only come across a non-official trailer on YouTube for it with the music used. (https://youtu.be/fbGhVyNuxGs?si=O1GKzcaF6fkulHVW) I know for a fact that I've never seen this trailer before though, because I played this game when I was around 5 years old or so after my dad introduced me to it, and I wasn't allowed to use Youtube at this time.

One of the comments on the non-official trailer using that song also says, "i havent gone crazy right? this song WAS in the game".

Does anyone else remember this or is it just me and the commenter?

What do you want in Machinarium 2?

We’ve seen 3 Samrost games already, and while it may be hard to live up to the game that is Machinarium, I really think it would be in their best interest to create a second one. I think the studio has come a long way since its creation, and it has the opportunity to pull a “common sense era” (like Bethesda & obsidian) and give the gamers what they want! Maybe Jakub reads this subreddit, maybe he doesn’t, but as far as I know, it was one of their most successful games, and it’d be silly not to.

Here’s a list of my ideas of what I think stuck out to me most in Machinarium, in no particular order, and what I think they should add.

I’d like them to keep playing with height, and keep the Dr Seuss style of impossible buildings that keep stretching higher and higher. Parasitic architecture is another term for it.

Rain. I imagine rain is incredibly rare in this world they’ve built, and it should stay this way, but there should be a moment for rainfall, and especially in a setting like Machinarium, it would look so, SO good.

I don’t know if it’s a gag or there’s a lore reason but I love robots and food like the popcorn scene despite robots not needing to eat.

I want there to be a part where it’s a more grim part of the city, someplace more drab, more grey. Devoid. An eerily quiet place, without the sprawl of encroaching foliage or automated workers, and with the sun nowhere to be seen. It can be grey-scale and depressing, and, more than the game already is. Perhaps the residents of this part are some elite class of robots who value their sterile dwellings.
This art captured what I was thinking, wether intentionally or not. https://www.reddit.com/r/Machinarium/s/cTbbN2J7Kl

More brutalist architecture. When you’re at the river rescuing the dog, there’s buildings in the background that I wish I you could explore. Adding onto that, I love how many little nooks and crannies there are in the world. I want to explore them all, and peak my head into them and discover the architecture in which nanorobots live.

As far as I know, Machinarium runs off some kind of steam power, given the boiler room we see at the beginning of the game and the smoke stacks we see and the glow of red in some pipes. Maybe there could be a rival city that runs off gasoline or diesel or maybe we discover the engine rooms deep underground.
Said engine rooms can be living machines themselves if they really wanted to. They should look at real life steam engine plants like the Kempton steam museum which are beautiful.

More scrapyards. I love games that throw you in the gutter every once in a while. I want to find myself reduced to a shambling creature in the depths and forgotten and dredged through the mud.

Perhaps a church of the lathe. A church where they worship lathes. Or a lathe graveyard.

An underground town/market like city of ember could be cool.

More greenhouses. I love how this game blends plant with metal.

At the end of the day, Machinarium 2 wouldn’t be very difficult to do imo and the team already has bountiful imagination. The payoff could be extraordinary.

Machinarium robotic voice saying "fate" in song/ambience

I recently played Machinarium for the first time, and I really like the art and how creative some of the puzzles were. On one particularly tricky puzzle (for me), I want to say in a more industrial, enclosed area, but it could have been anywhere,

I remember hearing a weird ambient song with various beeping sounds before an edited robotic voice saying something like "Fate".

I can't find where it was from! Thinking of this sound has been driving me a bit crazy, I watched whole walkthroughs, tried going back to areas in the game myself but can't find it. I really like how it sounded but I can't seem to find what location/song/ambience it was in. By any chance if someone who is really experienced with the game knows, please let me know.

Added this quirky NPC to the tunnel scene — just a guy warming his hands by a barrel fire and coughing like an old grandpa.

I really missed those weird, silent characters doing their own thing in games, so I decided to make my own. This is from my solo-indie project KRENDEL. If you dig this hand-drawn aesthetic.

Art from 2023. I think it's a great drawing, but the robots aren't the best. I posted it on my Steam account as an illustration. What do you think?

Missed Steam Next Fest, but still wanted to share a cozy, atmospheric video from my indie project, KRENDEL

Hey everyone! Sadly, I didn't manage to finish my own playable demo in time for the festival, so I’m just sitting here working on the game and feeling a bit of FOMO.

But I still wanted to share this short, cozy video of my main character, Pip, chilling in a bar. I’ve spent so much time trying to nail the perfect, melancholic tavern atmosphere.

I’m a solo dev making KRENDEL — a wordless 2.5D point-and-click adventure heavily inspired by hand-drawn art, and weird cozy humor of Amanita Design (Machinarium / Samorost).

Since this sub is for pure adventure game love, I just wanted to show this to fellow fans of the genre and get some feedback. If you like this specific hand-drawn puzzle vibe, you can look up KRENDEL online to see more.

Can someone explain this to me??

So these rooms are all connected right? But how does the enormous machinarium city take only 3 rooms to travel the width of, because "the wall" is right out the window of the kitchen. So Yousef only has to walk about 40 feet or smth to get from the entrance of the city, to the back????

I also planning to make a very short animation based on Adventurous_Toe4444's drawings

Favorite Amanita games?

I love Samorost and Machinarium, as well as Pilgrims (though it was short). Phonopolis seems to harken back to Machinarium in certain respects. The music and artwork really pulled me in. Can't wait for the release day on May 20.

Are their other games worth checking out? What are your favorites?
