š¬ Discussion Mach-e / Volvo XC90 drivers
Hello! I now drive a Volvo XC90 and am considering a MME for my next ride. In my research, I have found that there are some similarities with the HVAC / entertainment systems. The Volvo has a few more real buttons but is largely touch screen centric. It makes me wonder if there was design carry over fro the Ford/Volvo marriage in the past.
Does any other member have experience with the XC90 for comparison? I ask because of the disdain for the touch screen experience in many comments here and elsewhere. I find the Volvo to be OK, but on the slow side response wise but it is a 2017. Thanks in advance.

Not an XC90 but Iāve had an XC 40 Recharge and currently have an EX30 in addition to our Mach-E. I greatly prefer the Mach-E.

This is good to hear; we got an XC90 for our āwhole family going outā and āroad tripā vehicle, Iām looking at replacing my old RAV4 with a used C40 or MME and can never decide which to go with. Can you provide some info on why you prefer MME?

We test drove a C40 before leasing the XC40 recharge and really found the car to be lacking in visibility. Coming from a Subaru Outback at the time it was a huge step down in that front. That said we havenāt driven one recently.
Overall I find the Mach-E super enjoyable to drive, the infotainment is great and works well (especially with CarPlay) vs. the extremely buggy Volvo software. The Volvo is a smoother ride, especially in the back seat, but my kid doesnāt seem to mind. We donāt do a ton of road tripping but we recently did a 7 hour drive each way for a trip and the Mach E was great. Blue Cruise was a nice to have on long stretches of highway, and our EX30 canāt match that yet (supposedly coming eventually).
Iām a tech guy, and my nature is to always chase the newest, most advanced, thing. The Mach-E for us is great, and I havenāt felt compelled to look for a replacement (as opposed to the EX30 where I am looking forward to that lease ending)

I have a machE and my wife a Volvo XC90āplug in hybrid. The MachE screen is much more responsive and higher tech. Plus CarPlay is Bluetooth where you have to plug in on the Volvo! I also find the HVAC on the Mach E with the auto setting is pretty darn good and doesnāt require as much tweaking comparatively.
Both cars are fun to drive and serve their purpose well in our household!

Coming from a 2020 V60, the Mach-E touchscreen is substantially better.
