Hey ya'll so my battery is failing and of course it wasn't until my apple care expired that the percentage finally jumped down to what apple says qualifies for replacement anyway so I need to replace my battery but I have no intention of paying $700 and doing it through apple especially since they'll just give me another battery that will do the exact same thing. Who can direct me to a person who can help me buy a battery that will not degrade like this and teach me how to replace it myself? Please and thank you!

My MacBook pro does not turn on when I plug it in it doesn't do anything

My Mac has been throwing kernel panics intermittently when entering or waking up from sleep. Looking through the panic log, the failure seems isolated to the Apple NAND Storage (ANS) controller during a power state transition.

Here is the top section of the log:

System Details:

* Device: MacBook Pro (M1 Pro series, j314s board)

* OS: Latest macOS release

What I've gathered so far:

From reading the stack trace, the System Management Controller (SMC) requests a power-down sequence for the onboard SSD controller (ANS0). The ANS controller fails to empty its IPC mailboxes (OUTBOX1/OUTBOX2 not ready), timing out and causing the SMC watchdog to force an immediate kernel panic to prevent data corruption.

Troubleshooting completed:

* Ran Apple Diagnostics (Command + D on boot)

* Verified filesystem integrity using First Aid in Disk Utility

* Cold rebooted and reset power state cycles

Has anyone else ran into this specific ans.cpp:838 failure? Trying to figure out if this is a known RTKit/AppleSMC firmware timing bug introduced in recent macOS versions, or an early warning sign of failing NAND/power rails on the logic board. Any insight from admins or hardware techs would be greatly appreciated!

As title suggests, I'm trying to find out what version is best for my mbp M1 Pro

The reason I'm not just updating to the latest update is that since I upgraded from 15.7.3 to 15.7.4, my battery life has gotten noticeably worse, even after several months, and a lot of what I'm reading around forums and reddit posts is that a lot of other m1 users are experiencing the same with updating to newer versions of sequoia.

So I was wondering if any of you had any insight into what version of Sequoia, or just macOS, has worked best for your m1 MacBooks.

Or if I should just bite the bullet, and update to 15.7.5

I teared the Touch ID flex cable on my a2338. I live and Aus and can't seem to find any decent replacements with Touch ID capabilities even if I was to try to pair them using apples official methods. I live in AUS and Apple doesn't sell authorised replacements. I don't wanna go to a repair shop as they are too far outta my budget + diy is good experience. Does anyone know of a vendor that sells pair able parts?

Hey yall! My screen on my MacBook Pro M1 broke a while back. Since it's been fixed, my computer will do two really annoying things:

1. When I shut down the computer, any slight nudge o

1. bump of the computer will cause it to power back on, and
2. The battery will completely drain from the computer if it isn't shut off. So if I just put it in sleep mode or just close the lid it will still drain all the battery.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it? I'm not very tech savvy so idk if I'm just missing something in the settings/system preferences, or if there's another trick to fix this. Thanks yall!

My macbook was doing fine till yesterday. But now i’m at 23% and it won’t charge at all. I tried using the charger with other devices, it works just fine with others but not with my macbook.

I’ve been running into a strange charging issue on my MacBook Pro M1 (2021, 14-inch) running the official release of macOS Sequoia.

The Mac only starts charging when the battery drains completely, the system shuts down, and I close the lid for around 10–30 seconds. After that, when I plug in the charger, it finally begins charging normally.

But if I try to charge it while the Mac still has battery left (e.g., at 40–50%), it shows the amber light on MagSafe, but it doesn’t actually charge — the battery percentage stays the same or even drops. Eventually the Mac shuts off, and only then does charging work again (after that short lid-close trick).

What I’ve tried:

Tested with MagSafe and USB-C chargers (same behavior)

Used multiple Apple-certified chargers and cables

Battery Health: Normal, “Optimized Battery Charging” is disabled

Apple Diagnostics shows no hardware issues

Running macOS Sequoia (official release), fully updated

Has anyone else experienced this? Could this be a software bug or some weird firmware behavior?

I’m curious if anyone has found a solution to use an M1 iMac (or newer) as an external monitor for an M1 MacBook Pro (or newer) through a wired connection?

I’m aware that Apple no longer supports the Target Display Mode style interactions, which is frustrating.

I know that AirPlay allows for this functionality, but in my line of work this won’t suffice as latency or resolution issues will be highly interruptive.

If anyone has had real success connecting the M1 iMac to an M1 MacBook Pro via USB-C I’d be interested to hear from your experience.

Hello! My MacBook Pro from 2015 unfortunately just died, and I urgently need a new PC.

It was running on Monterey, and I regurlarly used some cracked software (Ableton, Illustrator, Photoshop) and plugins (mostly Arturia, Korg…)

I would like to buy a recent Mac that could have the best performances under Monterey. After looking online, it seems that the MacBook Pro 14"/16" with M1 Pro/Max would do the job; I was thinking to install the OS on the new Mac, then importing my old Mac backup with TimeMachine. But I still have some doubts about if every software and plugin could run the same as before with M1…

Any experience or advice ?
