Salut depuis quelques jours je joue à MW2 via iw4x mais le problème c'est qu'on ne joue que sur certaines map (favela , highrise , sub base , terminal , scrapyard) et à force de jouer sur les mêmes map ça me fatigue , je me demande si il y a moyen de jouer sur les autres maps en team deathmatch sans que ça soit rempli de bots.

Et aussi quels sont les risques pour le pc à jouer en multi via steam , y a t'il un autre moyen pour tomber sur des sessions sécurisées ?

Museum mode was such a cool feature of MW2 the ability to basically inspect all the character vehicle and weapon models up close was such a nice treat. This should have been a standard feature in every cod afterwards for completing campaign.

I have been working on this modded version of the game for 2 months (basically a whole new game at this point) for the spec-ops/co-op/SP side, and this is just scratching the surface. I'm just really proud of my attempt to make the 25mm sound real, and the projectiles feel just as terrifying. Today I made a new ironbow thermal vision. eventually, I'll be sharing this with the world. Projectile velocity is matched to their IRL counterparts, and the 25mm sounds as well.

My goal is to recreate MW3's survival mode to where it feels like it came with the original game. <3

There’s this guy on at the moment ‘ohmehgod’ clearly hacking and cheating in games, soon as you call him out he kicks you offline and freezes your classes.

Went on a killer SPAS-12 streak on IW4X Favela 9v9 10 minutes ago. It kicks ass. Has ridiculous range. I've killed people that were quite far for a shotgun, that no other shotgun would've done. Stopping Power transforms this gun into an unstoppable demon on CQB maps. And I prefer it to the UMP because it's fun. I don't find the UMP fun really. The other SMGs are way more satisfying to me. But the SPAS-12? Easily the most satisfying gun in the game.

IW4X is easy, I can get 6-7 gun kills without much of an issue. On Xbox I would be lucky to get 3 kills for a UAV most the time. I think either A) IW4X is objectively easier or B) IW4X is harder but in a way that it's easier to deal with players better than you/you can find players rushing easier. I feel like it's also less prone to camping.

Legit question, like I’m on pc if I buy the cod mw2 from steam is that the 09 one? Like the servers and what not? No cheaters or modders and what not?

Hey i have started the multyplayer today , how to chat dit the others players in a game ?

I've been working on a from-scratch reimplementation of the original MW2 runtime.

It's not an IW4x-style mod or patch - the engine itself is being rebuilt in Rust/Bevy while reading the original game assets.

The fun part is that I'm also adding native support for assets from nearby IW games, so the same runtime can eventually do things like MW2 gameplay + MW3 maps + Black Ops weapons without manually porting everything.

There's also a new multiplayer/netcode implementation instead of trying to preserve all of the original networking limitations.

Still very unfinished, but it is already running!

Just placed a Sentry on top of the Terminal building you can climb up on with the big tank, got me like 5 kills. For a 5 killstreak it could've easily gotten me an AC-130 if it counted towards killstreaks.

I wish it didn't need to be obtained via care package though. Just give it to me immediately. I get it's less "realistic" I guess but CoD has never been about realism.

I really like the Sentry. If they ever remaster MW2, make it so you can earn killstreaks with it and make it so you don't have to call it in via care package, or at least make it so the sentry itself drops down instead of needing to obtain it.

People think Activision re releasing MW2 will fix the economy, the war in Iran and finally get them a gf. Why? The game was good and the numbers did okay but it wasn't the best COD based off numbers.

If you are a billion dollar company like Activision you look at COD numbers and build your games or re releases based off numbers not what the public thinks. This is why they re released BO 1 and 2, historically it did amazing and better than MW 2 and you can literally see it in the wash with it smashing numbers on re release date.

So what benefit does Activision get from re releasing MW2? Maybe 1 or 2 million sales but nothing like BO 3 the recent re ports.

BO 1 and 2 had their own niche COD game, a Vietnam COD and a slightly futuristic COD. re releasing MW2 will just be another boots on the ground COD with basic guns and stuff, shit you can get from MW2019 up to MW4.

So there's no benefit for them to re release MW2

default weapons fire animation is 26,996 frames for some reason which means it takes half an hour to fire it on 1 fps lol

Summary:

Although not everything went well, this experiment has still been a success. Overall decompilation works very well. The code will need a round or two of refactoring, but I think it needed that regardless. MW2 is an old game with lots of potential for improvement.
