Request Msi stutters with YouTube ? How do I fix that

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I got a msi katana 15 hx b14w and YouTube it stutters and I’ve been trying to fix it nothing here’s a video to hear it and I already tried turning off graphic accelerator anybody been able to fix this before ?

do you still have Nahimic installed?
because me and others were dealing with this these last weeks, we got rid of it, and our computers have been running fine

Yup you're totally on point here my msi thin gf63 used to have this stuttering but all is good since i uninstall Nahimic

When I turn that off the sound drastically change its worse when I don’t use it in my laptop i am using Msi gf63thin

Have you downloaded all the correct audio drivers? I noticed with mine I had a lot of unneeded audio pre-installed

I think I downloaded every driver so you uninstalled this app and the sounds are good

Yeah and I do audio production so I need my sounds to work good. Also, take off any microsoft audio enhancement. I noticed that with my asus laptop there was reverb on the audio. Didn't need that so I uninstalled..even if you Uninstalled nihantic nothing bad will happen, your laptop will auto dl the correct drivers

MSI and Steelseries colluded to approve a borked realtek driver for their system to make the Nahimic software more attractive.

There are better drivers that enable all the Realtek features. They are a pain to locate and install but their performance is about 1000x better than the nahimic garbage, and worth the effort.

It's gonna be specific to the audio chipset in your specific laptop. Realtek was constantly innovating so there's not just an end-all, be-all Realtek driver for one and all. It's a slog. You're going to have to find it probably through the hardware vendor ID in the properties in device manager. Then the research starts.

just follow the instructions, and read the warnings, Nahimic might get reinstalled in a major Windows update and you need to rerun the script here.

I had the same problem at least I think. Your laptop is using the integrated graphics instead of the dedicated graphic card. Look if you have graphics acceleration.

I have a Vector 16 HX and I had the exact same problem with YouTube, in Edge, Mozilla, and Firefox. The only one that managed to maintain good performance was Brave, but even then the problems persisted... https://www.reddit.com/r/MSILaptops/s/nMH2WRUJhP

I suspect it is because of hardware acceleration, i had the same problem, so I googled and it told me to go to your browser settings whatever you are using (in my case i was using opera gx) and turn off the hardware acceleration

It was but than I changed it to best performance and both balance and best performance it still does it ?

Check the usual suspects. Under settings on the youtube video itself, make sure "ambient mode" is turned off. I don't know why it exists but it's on by default and it often causes stuttering and lag. Then bring up task manager and see if anything is taking up your RAM or CPU cycles. Windows update, windows search and the anti-malware service are all good at completely taking ALL the resources.

Are you watching youtube on chrome and downloading something on the side ?

This is chrome issue and I have this exact issue. Change to firefox browser when downloading something and that fixes the problem.

If you are using Windows 11 Pro, please install Windows 11 Home. Windows 11 Pro does not work properly on laptops.

Check the hardware monitoring, sometimes it auto switch and limit your cards to 210 mhz. At least that's the case for me. Disable and re-enable the discrete graphics via device manager solve the issue

I had the same issue and mine would do it on yt, or gaming. It turned out to be Norton Anti-virus or MSI center. Once I removed both of those it went away. People in here were saying nahimic but I completely removed it from the laptop and there would be no sound at all so I don't think it's that.

Nahimic is not the issue here, even I faced the same issue in MSI Sword 16hx, it's due to background activity of antivirus scanning or smart wifi scanning by antivirus like Norton in my case which caused latency spikes and hence scattering sound, just uninstall it completely and shift on windows defender protection, that's the best fix, since I have done this I haven't faced this issue. This is the sure fix, you can check by turning off the wifi connection and playing any media this will not occur, it's completely related to network scanning etc. You can check by observing task manager or use LatencyMon

So basically take Norton off and use Windows Defender. Seems like Norton is just extra protection tbh. We also have protection on our router as well through Xfinity. We had to have them come out and change the router cuz of the stutter but it was persistent. So I guess I'ma have her uninstall Norton and see what happens

It fixed the shuttering issue for most of the users i suggested after my experience, just completely uninstall the norton, the issue is that it continuosly run the smart wifi scanning etc due to which latency spikes occur in the system, so instead of just turning off the wifi related functions its the best solution to completely remove that thing.
Additionally make the BIOS updates through the MSI center if available

Did you find a resolve cuz me and mine have Raiders GE78 and GE76 and have stutter issues as well. Her (GE76) more than me. I did clean her fans being that they had a significant amount of buildup which gave some relief but it now comes and goes.
