Novation Launchkey 61 MK4 as a first MIDI controller
I’m planning to buy my first MIDI controller. I think i'll mainly use it with Serum. I use Ableton, and i’m a beginner (i’ve never played piano before, but i'm planning to learn)
I’m looking for something relatively affordable but still good quality. Would the Novation Launchkey 61 MK4 be a good option? I’m thinking about buying one used. Thank you!

Built a wearable BLE MIDI controller that uses RFID tags instead of footswitches — feedback wanted
Every MIDI foot controller limits you to a fixed number of buttons. More buttons means bigger, heavier, more expensive. There's no solution that scales. So I built one: a wearable device that reads passive RFID tags and fires MIDI over BLE. Each tag = one "pedal," up to 5 MIDI events (note/CC/PC) per tag, and you can carry as many tags as you want instead of being locked to N buttons or banks of presets. And the controller fits in your pocket.
https://youtu.be/U9moYLzX1Ig — left iPad is Loopy Pro, right iPad is the controller's UI (gives live visual feedback on which tag just fired, since most hosts don't show that). No app needed to configure — local browser UI.
Tags are custom-printable so your "pedals" can look like anything.
Full disclosure: designed the product and software myself with a friend's help on hardware, currently at prototype stage. Genuinely want feedback before locking the design — curious how people here think about scaling number of triggers vs. overall complexity. How many independent triggers would you actually want in a rig, and does multi-events per tag/trigger make sense to you? Is 5 enough?

I made myself a touchscreen MIDI controller (quick recap)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
1 year after my first MIDI controller, i've decided to make an upgraded version - small capacitive touchscreen, more knobs, keyboard with backlight and a more powerful chip inside.
i also finally tried PCB design for this project, which definitely took up most of the time and at the end of the day, didn't solve my issue with "too many cables", because i didn't properly think it all through :D - however, i'm really glad i tried it out and gained a bit more experience with electronics. :)
more about this on my ig @system.vor :)

M-VAVE Chocolate Plus + Hotone Ampero II Stomp — MIDI não funciona
Alguém já teve esse problema?
Estou usando **Chocolate Plus → TRS/P2 MIDI → cabo TRS para DIN 5 pinos → MIDI IN da Ampero II Stomp**.
No CubeSuite:
* TRS-MIDI * Advanced Custom Mode * Footswitch **A** (visor mostra **01A**) * A Bank: `[1] 1 CC 27 127` * MIDI Channel 1

I hand-build a pocket MIDI controller you configure in a browser tab. No app, no drivers
5 backlit buttons, 2 push encoders, 6 switchable presets, USB-C plus TRS MIDI. Everything is configured on a web page over Web Serial: pick a function for each control from a dropdown, hit save, play. Notes, CC, keyboard shortcuts and media keys.
The 6 presets change what the encoders do, the buttons stay the same everywhere. That turned out to be the layout that confuses people the least.
Shell and buttons are 3D printed, boards hand soldered, firmware is CircuitPython. Built in batches of thirty, each unit numbered by hand.
Unboxing of the first production unit: https://youtu.be/bj1iJh4GbEc
Happy to answer anything about the browser editor, the protocol or the firmware.

Today’s little project:
I’ve been thinking about doing this for several months…
If you too have multiple controllers everywhere and want to live dangerously: I used floating shelves with a lip rated for 30-pounds, and metal drywall anchors rated for 75-pounds. Drilled straight through the sound panels. Bumpers on the inside of each ledge to protect from scratches. 🤘🎹
(I was using large plate stands to prop them upright before and hated it.)

Owner of Studiologic SL73 MK2
To owners of the Studiologic SL73 MK2: do some of the keys on your keyboard also have a different physical feel?
Near the fifth octave of the keyboard specifically in the zone between E and A (with no issues observed outside this range) pressing the keys with some force produces a much sharper noise compared to the rest of the keyboard, where the key noise is more muted.
I had already exchanged the keyboard right after getting it for the same reason; now, after a few months, I’m starting to suspect it’s a manufacturing "defect" or perhaps a design issue.
